Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Cool that we're being told nothing

I mean, it doesn’t make sense even from a leadership’s purely selfish perspective. Surely productivity has been suffering with all of us on edge all the time and completely demoralized?

@br Don't resign until you have a firm offer in hand. It's very bleak out there. Even when you are a perfect fit for a job, hundreds of others are applying for it.

Working in NAA, I'm convinced that the lack of executive communication around the RIF coupled with the leaks to analysts/journalists is not random but an attempt to get staff to resign rather than be Riffed and get severance. Uncertainty and stress generated by this long silence is not an accident but part of the RIF plan. And this is a cynical play my senior management.

@a6 I think the opposite is true and a lot of people are not working much at all.

The sadists in charge want everyone to be constantly scared of losing their livelihood so they work that much harder.

I think the reason is even if the leadership acknowledge the layoffs, they of course cannot comment on whom or which specific team is getting impact. Which means it will only cause more productively loss.
