They can just go work for Deloitte or InfoSys and be right back at Verizon to backfill.

my friend who doesnt work for Verizon told me that she has Verizon service, when she called the customer service, she spoke to someone from India. she said her issue was never resolved. they just passed her call around. so sad what happened to a great american company.

I think this article states incorrect that all employees are laid off from Hyderabad location itself. Maybe Sambar batch might have targeted Telugu folks working across cities. That I’m not aware. Chennai needs cleanup for sure.

You can't blame Apu. He's just trying to earn a living. The real villians are the leadership that accepts cut rate, substandard service and products from the third world. We are an American based company serving Americans. We need to be staffed by the best America has to offer. We need to immediately eliminate all off shore employees and backfill with only US based citizens. The corrupted H1B program should be immediately discontinued. No exceptions. No reinstatement. Most of these people do not share American values and do not intend to contribute to American success or assimilate into American culture.
Sorry to hear about this. I know there are mixed opinions about offshoring jobs to India, but regardless, our colleagues in India are still people with families who need to pay their bills and support their loved ones, just like anyone else. Job loss SU-KS, no matter where you live.

@a5 they were as any company can be. 13k from US, which widely reported by the media.
So the total number laid off is actually 15,000. The company was not transparent about this and reported a smaller number of 13,000 to the media
