The fact that we are going to 4/1 when there is only 1 desk for every 1.3 employees at Harbor Point makes me think that we will have more layoffs before bonus time. There are literally not enough desks for people to reserve 4 days a week right now.

@br the 2022 layoffs were in early November right after open enrollment closed, which seemed especially like a slap in the face.
I'm glad I never took a job there just before covid. Sounds like a sh!t show.
@br It's ongoing in smaller pockets due following localized efficiency reviews - nothing firm-wide on the horizon.
Others have stated that layoffs are happening currently in smaller pockets to not raise alarm. If that's not the case, I'm betting Oct layoffs. Nov is too close to the holidays and vacation time.
@OP They went to these "flex desks" under the guise "Well, since people are not in office 5 days a week anymore, no sense having dedicated desks for just a couple of days a week.". Since then, they seem to be coming very close to 5 days a week in office again. Why can't we have assigned desks again? I think you have answered that. What a stupid exercise that we have to undertake - playing this twisted Hunger Games meets Musical Chairs every week to try and get an acceptable desk to work at. People actually wake up in the middle of the night to book desks for themselves and their friends. IMHO this whole scenario adds to the decline in culture here. What a bunch of rigmarole to have to deal with. Maybe everyone who cannot book a desk for a given day will be selected for termination? Who is running this place? Nothing seems well-thought out at all anymore.
