Be aware that if you or your family members are seeing USAA onsite clinical staff for your medical needs, you are NOT allowed to communicate with the medical staff once your employment is terminated. You are allowed to have your medical records transferred to a nonUSAA entity. USAA will keep a copy of your records. The onsite clinical staff are employees of USAA. Again, once your employment is terminated, no further communication is allowed with the USAA clinical staff except to transfer records. This means that telemed phone appts/zoom calls are NOT allowed. Our providers will not return msgs. Contact HR/Legal/Clinical mgmt if you need clarity on this company policy.

@vt I don't know how this had anything to do with the topic at hand, but good luck to y'all.
I was just terminated recently. Luckily my husband went to the clinic in the home office to have his bottom surgery so he could transition. He always said he was a g-y woman trapped in a man's body. Now we can live our lives out happily ever after. Bearded clams are on the menu every night at our house. Finger-licking good. Hmmm..

Wow, that is a bunch of words based on hypotheticals. I hope you get the help and resolve you need.
@br - people choose providers in order to develop a decent relationship with them. On my medical insurance changes and my provider is no longer considered in network, they answer phone calls. I can still visit them, often at different clinics, and simply have to pay the Out Of Network fee or pay cash. So I'm not sure what you are referring to. It was never explained to me when I went to the onsite clinic that I would never be able to communicate with my physician ever again in anyway once employment was terminated. Had I known this, I would never have chosen to see an on-site physician. God forbid that I would have a lawsuit against USAA involving mental duress as a result of a toxic work environment. With the current set up, USAA would be able to see all of my medical records in order to develop an effective strategy to discredit me entirely during the adjudication process. This would be a HIPAA violation. And USAA would deny that they ever did this. There is definitely a conflict of interest when a billion dollar corporation hires medical staff as USAA employees house the medical staff must now do whatever USAA tells them to do. I have always thought that medical staff worked for a medical company, and I was never told that the medical staff worked for USAA. It's a conflict of interest. And the company policies are there to protect the company and allow practices that would violate constitutional rights outside the company. Be careful what you say. There is no freedom of speech in the corporate world. That's just one example. Not allowing me to even talk to my physician because "it violates company policy" is another example. Enjoy your Benefits. Enjoy your fat paychecks. And enjoy being a slave to USAA. I would love to be the CEO for one day. And I would do it for one penny. And I would clean house starting with the executive team and HR. I would implement contractual employmeny for executives which would allow the employees to determine if the executive should be fired after their one year term or extended by another term. There would be a scorecard for this which would include how they treat their employees, how much money they make for what they do, how many cases were filed against them through the EEOC or through HR, and a few other items. Pay for my gas and food, and I would not ask for a salary beyond that in order to make changes so that USAA reflects the original intent. To truly serve others especially the members of the military. If you have no military service, you have no business being in a leadership role. right now, the best bet is to find another company. Otherwise, enjoy the continued abuse while savoring in the amazing benefits and the fat paychecks. Ever wonder why they offer so many wonderful medical benefits, especially for mental health issues? If you are unhappy at USAA, you truly need to get away from that company as it will never get better as long as the executives get their fat paychecks. DEI hires should all be fired unless they truly have experience in the job. USAA was definitely the most toxic environment I've ever worked in thanks to my DEI manager who didn't have a clue about her role, an HR team that protected her, an executive team that protected her, and company policies that protected her. Don't really care if this ever gets posted. I just hope many of you can open your eyes to what's happening and get away from there. Don't be a slave to your management and don't accept disrespectful conduct from anyone. The corporate world thrives with people with horrible behavior that were placed in leadership positions because of their bullying behaviors which allow the company to do however they want without question and without accountability. There are many lawsuits against USAA. I find it amazing that court cases can be sealed so that nobody can ever look at what happened. billion dollar company. Many sealed cases. Many lawsuits. Executives making millions of dollars year after year. The inability to even talk to my physician that I had for years because of a company policy and because it was never advertised that I would never be able to talk to them again once my employment was terminated. That's messed up. And if you think otherwise, you are part of the problem which means that you will stay there and enjoy your fat paychecks and Benefits. Adios.
So sorry to hear about your termination. Maybe I am not getting the full picture, but this does make sense given the relationship was terminated. If you transfer to a new physician in any environment, then medical records are transferred and services are discontinued. Was there an online portal being used? I hope things get better for you!
