Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

PL and Directors

They are watching this thread and others because my former director brought it up in a meeting to reassure the others they had not been notified. My PL spent my entire 60 days trying to have a moment with me, and constantly asking if I had another job, but lied when I asked her if I was on the lay'off list. But had informed others they were not.

jdfa+1pZanTCO I applied and met initial screening for SEVERAL of the new positions. I can tell you something was fishy because I interviewed very well for one position and the status did not change until the very last day. Yes, for almost two months give or take. The recruiter was vague, and declined me for at least 4 other roles with the same title and description in other areas.

They didn't want to fill those roles with those that were being let go.

If there’s a budget for all the new postings, it would have made sense to promote employees into those positions. Layoffs and rumors of future layoffs doesn’t make sense. They say update your skills in Workday while some get promoted, some have to apply and others get laid off. I don’t blame anyone for not wanting the jobs listed, the question is why are they posted during layoffs especially when I have seen numerous promotions and layoffs. I guess the decisions they make aren’t meant to make sense.

PL here. Unfortunately that’s not true across the board. As a PL I didn’t know until the day off the layoff about my team impact. No advanced notice. It’s fortunate some had notice. As for me and my team, no notice. I instead had to sit and field questions as it was happening because we all were blindsided. So please stop saying PLs knew. Some may have but not all of us did.

Why aren’t the new jobs being offered to the people that were laid off?

I believe my people leader knew a few weeks before the last layoff, based on a meeting they had with me and questions they asked about my happiness and dedication to the job. It was an odd conversation that came out of nowhere, but made perfect sense when the layoffs came down and another long-term employee was laid off on our team. I can't give more details than this, so it may seem more cryptic than it actually was.

Unfortunately for the dissenter in this thread I have a PL who talks entirely too much with her team. I know for a fact that PLs know what's happening. My PL informed us they were given 45 days noticed and trained on the recent lay-offs. She let us know the details of internal conversations with the Senior Director and VP about decisions long before they happen.
So yes, PLs do know.

There are PL bragging on choosing employees to let go based on “who they don’t like”. Just as they brag on promoting “who they do like”. This isn’t a one size fits all PL “bagging” session. There are some bad ones overshadowing those that really don’t know. This isn’t non PL vs PL. it’s clearly professional vs non professional behavior.

PLs (sups, managers, directors) are all in the dark about changes same as non PLs. Stop stirring the pot. They are on this thready with uncertainty the same as you non PLs so please stop bagging on PLs like they have it so much better...

PLs barely have their jobs. Most are barely competent.

I'm a current employee, btw.

My PL acknowledges seeing these post as well. One or all could only hope those in charge do monitor this thread. It’s the most honest & anonymous feedback they will get. Surely someone cares.

My PL did the same thing. She said she would give me a good reference, but I couldn't seem to land intenal positions I was over qualified for after my interviews.
