@OP I’m trying to hold on to this job for as long as possible. My coworkers and their fraternizing are running our department into the ground. I’m making myself look better than they are on paper, which isn’t hard to do. Dressing right, and trying to move into a department with more job security. The hiring pool here is a joke

those let go would be happily to be productive and the bottom line is that we all work to earn money and being productive is good for mental health, so yep, I am being productive.

It’s fascinating how someone apparently still employed has so much free time to troll a layoff board while lecturing about productivity. Claiming I ‘supported your point’ because I was productive and laid off is a logic fail of epic proportions. Your condescension and keyboard bravado are the only things you’ve proven here. @bs+1k4s9gqkz made a blanket, unfounded statement "if you’re unproductive you’re out". Laughable. And since you claim to have been productive and out anyway, you supported my point. Measuring and managing employee productivity is far past the abilities of many of our "leaders".
But I'm not sure you really were as productive as you claim. The mental acuity you demonstrated here casts doubt on how capable you really were.

@bq if you’re unproductive you’re out, and that applies to any commercially successful company today. People need to start understanding this instead of whining about being worried or unable to work because they’re so stressed.
Man up, or woman up, be productive either here or somewhere else and feed your family - they will appreciate this strength.

I have been very productive! Writing CVs, reading books, posting on linkedin to get views up. Is that the productivity you are looking for?
I have been unproductive for many, many weeks now. No plans to reverse course any time soon. Not for this shithole.
I have had one interview already this week and another scheduled for tomorrow.
Pretty productive so far.
It has been rough, but I am excited about the next steps in the value creation plan.
@ad they did layoff the most hardworking people I worker with, people who cared about the job more than caring about their families.
I will be doing the bare minimum, because working hard won’t change the fact that you can be at risk.
