My advice is to find a place to hide out. Avoid all others at all costs. Don't share any information or talk during meetings. The less they know about you and your personal lifestyle better. You are still going to get dinged because you are not engaging or contributing but it's better than getting piped because of something you said or did.

@df We can automate most managerial functions up to and including the executive level.

Ai can make equal or better strategic business decisions and it doesn’t require an eight-figure equity package. With no meetings to drag everyone into, most middle-managers will be relegated to washing cars and queuing at the local food bank. Sounds like utopia to me.

@cw That experiment was called the Behavioral Sink, and you’re getting your facts wrong.

The mice were actually given everything they could possibly have wanted and they all went haywire anyway. Read up on it. It’s actually quite disturbing.

@cw the reasons for overt aggression and territorial behavior is understandable but, does the HR team who is all about inclusion and equality know this… HR ladies love firing difficult employees…what tools does XOM have to identify these bad apples?

Backstabbing and politics will be the norm for the next decade.

Remember the classic psychology experiment where there are too many mice in the cage will far less food to support the mice. The passive mice will become super aggressive when there is not enough food to support them.

Until we reach 42,000 employees globally and our Return on Capital Employed consistently stays above 15%, we will continue to experience overly aggressive behaviors by the employees that remain in the corporation.

The ranking system was already broken four decades ago especially after the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska. We are using the ranking system since 2019 to accelerate headcount reduction above the typical 3% attrition rate.

Why? Because of AI, lower cost employees in India/Prague/Budapest/Buenos Aires, stagnant growth in EU and USA, the Cloud, growth of EV transportation, cell phones, laptops, and iPads, we can do more with alot less employees globally.

Headcount should level off at around 42,000 by 2030 but NSI rates will be 8 to 10% before we get back to the normal 3% attrition annually.

The second line management in this company is the worst assortment of human beings. Especially those stuck at CL 29 in their late 40s. Their only goal is to make life miserable for others because they couldn’t make it.

Watch out for these dementors, they’ll su-k your soul and joy for their 2% increments.

Yes it is getting worse and more "competitive" every year. Employees watching everything others do and reporting to their supervisors. I was asked to watch other employees and report to the slimy supervisor. I did not comply and was not in the super's good graces anymore. I have several that are watching me now but I hide out and do not interact with them. The worst sites are Baytown, Mt Belvieu and baton rouge. There are some truly evil people working here. Gossip and untruths are rampant at these sites and the established groups will ki-l the new outsiders.
