They changed severance for non-VPs on Jan 1 to be 'unemployment assistance' that is paid bi-weekly as long as you collect unemployment.

If your severance is in one lump some, don't file for unemployment until AFTER it, any bonuses and any vacay payments clear the bank. Read your paperwork carefully.

True, I was let go and the prior post about “Severance Reduction” is also true. You get nothing but the difference between unemployment pay and your normal pay; weekly, if proven.
