Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

No one will claim to have lost a good job

I have great empathy for victims being let go. Ageism is alive and well. No one will claim to have lost a good job though. You lost a job with high stress, little chance of success, zero training, impossible deadlines, plenty of unhappiness all around. A management team who hates their own jobs and all their subordinates. A kiss a-s culture wrapped in total incompetency.

So true, @gy+1k7g0fqf8. I was let go today, and strangely, I feel relieved. Even with the uncertainty ahead and the sting of being discarded after ten years as if I’m worthless, the overwhelming feeling is one of finally being free of this place.

@zv Which one? Both are gone and the 2 women that run cust. remediation now are clueless. Are you referring to the "Executive" Director, per her fake title on LinkedIn?

@fw

In compliance they pushed out the customer remediation person only to replace her with a lady who has inflated her entire career on her resume. It’s pathetic.

@pr Also effed over, in a different but similar way having to do with open reqs and more. Curious if you were remote or in-office? I’m still here (yuck), but battle every day mentally to stay sane. Everyday a new pile of sh!t is smeared in my face. But, I have bills to pay so I’m enduring for the moment. You’ll land on your feet, and I’m certain I’m not far behind you in the ‘laid off by US Bank’ club.

@OP I had a well paying job and I'm pi---d about losing all my benefits I worked hard for. I had gotten to the point I was harming myself mentally and emotionally because my disgust, distrust and disrespect for management and the company was eating away at me. I was let go last month and I am so scared of what's to come after fourteen years. But not having those poisonous feelings inside of me about my employer is an incredible gift. They are terrible people and that's on them. They particularly f*cked me over. I was let go with two higher paying reqs OPEN on my team.

No one ever looks back after a year or two and says "I miss working at the bank". Nope.

@fq Someone in my department lied about having the CPA. They didn’t know what a cash flow statement was 🤣🤣🤣

So many executives want you to make excuses and fudge the numbers. If you don't and say there is a problem to fix, you are soon out of a job. I spoke to a consulting firm that no longer works with US Bank due to the unethical behavior of the executives.

It's so sad to see these leaders lying constantly. One was literally not showing up at work and claiming to have an undergraduate degree that they didn't have. Another is always an expert in everything - yet the failures in his org are always someone else's fault.

Only bad part of leaving is you still have to say you worked here.

Truly I wish you the very best of luck finding a new job. A job with a profitable company and a positive culture. A position with a team who values each other and works towards a common, clear, defined goal. One with excellent pay and benefits. Mostly though, a job where you will be respected and valued. The bank is a horrible place to spend your working career.

Definitely not. I’m never been more motivated to find another job in my life.

I was laid off yesterday and I’ve been numb ever since. I’ve been very close with the MC of the area that laid me off and I just believe they are going in the wrong direction and listening to the worst of ideas.
