I also have heard this too, actually. Will it actually happen? Who knows... But, what I do think will happen is they will scale back the 5 days/RTO to 3 - like it's ALWAYS been. Pre-covid it was always 3 days in, 2 at home. covid forced the full remote and now covid is over (yes, it is fkng OVER with you goofs) and many other companies have mandated a 5 day IN office rule so, Dell followed suit.
Well, we all know how the precious Tell Dell results turned out and if there's one thing dell cares about, its their nPS score - which again, as we know was in the sewer with the rats.
I do think that by EOY dell will let managers/directors decide if their directs need to be in office x amount of days, or not. I mean, dell wouldn't want to destroy and tarnish their reputation by being known as the company who monitors your every move. They thrive off of telling everyone they are all about "flexibility" and "work/life balance."
Losing employees or future employees to competitors who have a hybrid model would be disastrous.
So yes, I honestly believe that the ACTIVE monitoring will be gone sooner than later and will be left up to each individual manager/director.
