Can't wait for another effective strategy loaded with buzz words thats been kept secret till now. CDW-G is still struggling from the last go to market idea.

@2eg Ahh, "General Cash Fund" heh
@2ef You don’t know about GCF? Consider yourself lucky. It’s this insulting and utterly disgusting way to reduce headcount without a severance package. GCF reduces your base salary and sometimes your title in the name of funding the Olympics and EC bloat. GCF is an incentive to look elsewhere- aware from the cesspool. Let’s put a moratorium on hiring or retaining good talent but let’s keep hiring C level, SVP and VPs.
@fr What's GCF?
I know that some inside haters made sure that my last post was deleted but I'm gonna say it again... It'd be great if upper management, directors and VPs, volunteer all their family members for the next layoff. We cannot continue to lose talented people because we need to save the CDW/CDW-G directors and VP's children and all the relatives that got hired by the company. We all know that your kids and relatives are not relevant... I know a couple of Hybrid Infrastructure directors, on the CDW-G side, that are involved in some sort of conflict of interest. Total BS!
@fr If nothing else, at CDW you find out there are a lot of acronyms thrown around and no one cares to define any of them.
@bj no doubt talk about a dude that is on an ultimate power trip as a middle manager in SMB. 😂
I hope this new Go to Market Strategy works!
I will say this... at least this was an actual major change / announcement and not just buzz words. For the Coworker that joked about "getting to miss the meeting" due to a conflict and using sarcasm... How'd that work out for you? Wish you were there for the announcement now?
Unbelievable. As I understand it, leadership had a plan to change GTM and GCF for more than 18 months. I've heard 24 months but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and use 18 months. Leadership took their sweet old time with GTM and GCF, and now our stock is down the sh----r (> 25%) over the last year. Leadership explained today what GTM and GCF is going to look like, but stumbled to find the words like this was the first time they've (Sales, ITS) have gone over it together. Its not that f-ing complicated. We're all big boys and girls. Tell us what we need to do, and tell us how you are going to pay us. We see what's coming. Just pull the freaking trigger on this thing.....
Lol, look at all the bootlickers downvoting comments in here. These people are exactly why CDW is in the position it is in. Anyone who seriously thinks a clown like Chris Leahy deserves to be the CEO going forward is delusional.
B5, Why does Conor need to be fired? I know why Bob should go. Completely in over his head. Just learned how to spell Clod. lol.
Awe have redundancy between product development under education and under CDW overall. Did anybody mention restructuring that?
@bj someone has to go on those trips their team earned them.
@b5 Conor deserves to be fired, without a severance package. during the holidays.
Any insight on how they will structure K12?
While we’re at — congrats to the SMB NorCal manager, the most worthless of all in our division. 👏🏻
Golly shucks. Shore do hope I gets ta be in duh pool! I’z 2 dum ta be anywhere’s elss.
Any of us in SMB are just too d-mB to handle these big ole customers. Been out selling our majors/territory peers for years. Now they get the fruit of the labor or we lose our velocity accounts
Congratulations to small business. Thank you Conor. No presales support. Nothing to sell except laptops and printers. Thank you Gerald. Another exec with zero experience selling value. Thank you Liz for walking away from our growth engine, or at least that’s how it was sold to me. I’m out.
Customer centric. Nothing says customer centric like moving them off reps they have worked with for years to brand new reps who have no idea how to do the job. This is going to end terribly. CDW didn't hire into segments based on previous experience so you have majors/territory etc reps who are far worse than even SCC. Should be Leahy's last shot at righting the stock.
@OP I’m guessing we won’t get t-shirts and swag like we did with Eccles.
Both Chris and Al made it clear more cuts are coming due to the increased SG&A as a percent of sales and lower profits.
They’ve already made massive cuts and they’ve still been unable to get costs under control.
This is a business model issue and the EC is still unable to realize what’s staring them in the face and fix it.
@at in what way?
So Liz just confirmed layoffs without saying it word for word….
@a3 I'll cover for you can you share the Zoom link?
Oh darn, I have a client meeting at that time and can't attend. I'm so sad and am sure I'll miss so much valuable information. (that's sarcasm, by the way)
