No. The list is already created. There's a 72.5% chance you're on it.
Its not all about kissing the boss rear or wearing TI shirts, its usually about your Salary and cutting costs.
Sure the lower level managers get to do the Name List for the Axing of heads...but it has nothing to do with performance as some think, its your salary and group clout. Cheap Temp labor, cheap HB1 labor is kept...gold badgers get the axe if a group wants to save money and keep young and active.
We had a cheerleader for TI and she was cut.
Shes not a cheerleader anymore about "being positive is important!!!" "having good attendance is important!!!" rah rah rah!!! "if you stay positive your safe from layoffs!!"
lol...funny in hindsight. Good luck, and get yourself an emergency plan if a LayOff hits, is what Id recommend. Thousands and thousands of good engineers have been laid off at TI over the past decades. Best of Luck.
@bj there is indeed always a list and you're right in what to do to stay away from the top of it... short of our colleagues whose entire sites were shut down (Manchester, Cary, Federal Way). That's unavoidable.

Yes, TCB ratings are done in September. The Bs this round will be gone in Q4.

There is a list all the time. It's called rank and ratings. It's done more often than you think. People on performance issues, attendance, etc.
Just do your best to stay off the "list"
That's all you can do. Don't call in, do more than what is expected, be kind and courteous. Don't give them any reason to do anything but promote you.
Don't act like a spoiled kid. Nothing at work is about you.
