Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

My time here is nothing but stress and second-guessing

You can feel the lack of honesty in every meeting. It is clear that profit came first and people are just numbers. No trust, no stability, and no real support from the top.

@kf If anyone on your team is training someone from outside of the United States, they are training them to replace that position when it is eliminated.

@f5 so you think Cigna is getting rid of ALL stateside employees?

@OP Low level leadership is in the dark as much as we are and they’re just as concerned. Take your control back, update your resume and start applying elsewhere.
All of the positions that are stateside are being ‘eliminated’ and moved to Hyderabad and Philippines.
Take care of yourself and your onshore peers.

@bj I know it is crazy talk but happy employees boost moral and productivity that can lead to shareholder gain. Plus they don't care enough about saving money for the shareholders for if they did biggest boost would be cutting c level salary and removing all the useless directors who contribute nothing but somehow manage to stay on.

There is business and profit ….And then there is pure greed and evil.
Maybe that sounds dramatic, but I’d disagree, it just is what it is.

Posted before said it best, “When a quarterly profit of $1.5B is not enough, catering to the shareholders and sc--wing over the employees should not be the course of action but here we are….”

@av

Do you think investors want to hear “we’re sorry we lost your money, but our employees are happy and isn’t that the most important thing?”?

This is capitalism; profits over people. Always… and I know it stings differently when you equate we are in healthcare always being told every step is for the benefit of our “members”.

The members they speak of are the Members Only shareholder club

Profits came first?

Well yeah…it’s a publicly traded corporation.

If you hate profit-driven companies, there are lots of nonprofits to which you can apply.
