Last year a dude on my team who did NOTHING was laid off.
Was back as a contractor within a month or two.
Ridiculous.
@bh Why external hires, do you happen to know?
When i read the job descriptions on fidelity central and external site, most of them ask for internal functioning of that job.
In my domain, they sent us roles to apply to and are doing rapid interviews so they can let us know before the 5/29 lay off date
I was able to land 1 interview out of 19 applications. Not sure if even that will convert considering that everyone is saying about HR rules to not hire laid off ppl.
We were officially told that it will be very difficult to get back internal role. So, best way is to try outside. Fidelity has taboo for rehiring associates who were laid off.
Do you mind share what positions you are applying? My org is currently hiring so I might help you guys.
@bw same here .. no wonder there has been no action on my applications for over a week
@bh wow is this true.. why can't they be transparent about it.. I m spending whole day editing resume , preparing cover letter reaching out to hiring managers, recruiters and my boss is encouraging me to continuously apply internally ..
HR has given rules not to recruit laid off people to managers like me, they are encouraging external hires
There’s no time cap on when we can find another role at fidelity before we can’t.
end of month...
