Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

In EU under what criteria are they laying off, financial difficulties?

Wonder what is the valid reason they going to give...

Probably due to a reduction in required headcount thanks to operational efficiencies or changing business requirements.

Likely you'll be "encouraged" to seek alternative internal vacancies ( which probably don't exist) then allowed to "seek external opportunities".

@d8 and those good legal teams aren't cheap. The only people who win in court are the lawyers.

@bh this point can be easily challenged in a labour court by an employee and win. An employee only need a good legal team.

@b4 well then you can pretty much guess that it will be the reason they use. The balance sheet and debt obligations will support it.

@b3 The severance may be lower if the company chooses to play the card of the economic reason.

Why do so many people ask for the reason or logic behind the layoff? Who cares... the layoffs will happen whether they have a good reason or not. The valid reason is that they don't want all of the employees that they have.
