Annual Assessment Truths

Did you know that the only person who sees your feedback is your supervisor? In the assessment meeting your supervisor can make up anything. There is no fact checking of what they claim your KO feedback was. They can totally make it all up. Same for your PDS write up. Only your supervisor sees it. They could come in and say things totally different from what you wrote on your PDS and your KO feedback said and you would never know.

@OP what about the part where you’re not asked to provide KO on your managers for about 6 years in a row?

Supervisors and managers hold all the cards and this is why the system is f ed. It really doesn't matter what or what you don't do. That is why you see so much a ss kissing and back stabbing. It is all that matters.

KOs can be sent by your sup for negative feedback. A lot of us are ranked with our super. you can be collateral damage while the main target has been PIPd. You can get a NI NSI or pipd to be ran off but if you stay and fight they will keep you. They can move you, put you in a different team to run you off. Ignore you and keep you year after year with nothing constructive to run you off. Promote people over you to run you off. Put a work load on you that is out of scope but they don’t care to run you off. No pip just see if you will leave. What am I missing?

@bh In all the assessment meetings I have been in I have never heard the name of the person who gave the feedback used. The quotes are kept anonymous. This in itself is probably also a problem since people can sink others with their feedback for their own gain and remain anonymous.

Not true, these decisions are made a level above your supervisor. He can spin it positively or negatively of course. If you have not made an "above and beyond" contribution dont expect any sympathy..

A supervisor wouldn’t risk “lying” to make things up. Could they embellish or “make it their own words”? Certainly. It’s not like they can say “Jason said he was the best person to work with” when in fact Jason said they were the worst.

That's how they make people work all these extra hours without getting paid while wage ppl gets 2x + meal + padded pension.

@OP And I believe that the lack of transparency or control on the input to your assessment is the root cause of the anxiety and insecurity that most EM folks feel. You are like a mouse trapped in a cage. It is really unbelievable that a system like EMs exist in the 21st century.

I noticed it in 2018 at the Midland Office. Now the person is a EM recruiter.
