Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

When did Dell become so toxic?

My neighbors ask me all the time when did Dell become so toxic? I tell them it's been this way for many years. But lately, it's accelerated because our inept, incompetent, inexperienced, nepotistic leadership clowns started thinking it could replace employees with AI chatbots. All driven by greed. Dell leadership or HR absolutely DOES NOT CARE about employees.

It slowly started becoming more toxic after the EMC acquisition. Not because of what EMC brought to the table but every executive decision after that became more about investors making their money back and getting out from under that debt. The partial public move, spinning out VMware, various restructuring. COVID profits put a bandaid on things.

Instead of focusing heavier on integrating the two companies faster and solidifying the ISG portfolio, executives dr-g their feet, toxic leaders were allowed to fester on both sides. Both divisions treated enterprise storage like it was 2010.

That trickled down has continued.

@fr Didn't Dell offshore support in the 1990s?

Hot take, but once dell followed all tech companies and started to offshore support. That was the start of dell ONLY looking at profit and the start of him padding his pockets. Going private to restructure his bank account. The EMC purchase could have been dell's chance to take a monster share of storage and virtualization with vmware, but nope. He sold off vmware to pad his pockets, leveraged the emc name to pad his pockets, and now is riding the nvidia wave. Its been a $hitshow for a while, and every opportunity for him to lead, well, he hasn't bc he is a greedy s-b that only wants more $$$.

@ey 100% MD looking at a room filled with employees and flatly stating “remote work was a mistake.” You could absolutely feel the whole room shift. We all realized in that moment what a LIAR he and the rest of them are and that we truly don’t matter, our families don’t matter, our mental health doesn’t matter. His donations/generosity are strategic… PERIOD. If MD cared so much about kids he wouldn’t have voluntarily upheaved thousands of families. But hey… you see Dell Stock?! Disgusting.

@bg During COVID I got 130%, 140% and 135% of my yearly bonus. It was a good time to be a Dell employee. Even with those high percentage bonus’ I tried to get laid off and it never happened.

@an you couldn’t be more wrong. Management and leadership set the tone of the company. This company was fine up until 2023. We had major changes and now it’s toxic and corrupt.

@OP HR exists to protect management and the company.

Nepotism has been around for thousands of years, why do you believe it should be stopped.

Toxicity in the work environment is from disaffected employees, not the company or management.

The shareholders, owners of the company, are very happy with the BOD and management due to the fact that the stock price is above $400.
