Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Remember ENGINE?

Not hearing much about it externally (like that ridiculous fluff job wsj piece) or even internally. Did they become self aware and realize touting hiring thousands in India doesn’t look good whilst cutting thousands more in the USA? Or is it loving to not be the magical elixir we thought, and already being down played? I’d guess the former. But also a bit of the latter.

The problem is there are not any qualified workers for the positions that need to be filled. Chevron is not offering high enough compensation to attract the local qualified workers and is offering lower than the Exxon and other competition as per usual.

I agree, the Engine is not staffing fast enough so now we have MSP contractors filling the open positions. Chevron has to train the temporary MSP contractors now and then train the new Engine staff when they finally get onboard, then train the next set of Engine employees after the first set quit and then train the next set of new employees, then.....
