I see so many folks ki-ling themselves because they think that'll save them from being cut. It doesn't work like that, sadly. It'll just end up hurting you. You need to remember a job isn’t worth losing your health over. Stress doesn’t go away when you log off, and your body eventually keeps the score. Constant anxiety and burnout take their toll. I know this is a stressful time, but please, remember that your well-being should always come first.

@bg, That’s exactly the kind of mediocrity that has gotten us to 4th quartile performance.
All management care about is how long they have to wait until the champagne is the right temperature on the private jet.
@bg, regardless if you get EE or VC in 2025, as long as you have a job and don't get left standing, the company values you. I'd much rather get VCs and keep a job than all EEs and get left standing.
Thank you, OP. This is such an important reminder. Just had my mid year PMP and received a meets expectation. I have been busting my chops and taken on additional unplanned work and for what? It is extremely demoralizing to feel like you give your all and get zero recognition. At this point it feels obvious to me that this company doesn’t value me or my contributions.
