If you have not been offered voluntary separation package how likely is it you would get it if you wanted and requested it ?? >30 years in at ford .
If granted - are there any stipulations ?

@dd over 50 is a protected glass by law
@OP. AFAIK, no packages are granted. The idea is attrition and PIPs to save money, replacing the people gone with LCCs. Agency and PS are going to be goners too, outsourced as well to LCCs. The managers are leaning on the older employees trying to force them to retire if they already can.
Does anybody know if people over 50 are a protected class in terms of Ford corporate policy given their minority numbers?
Are there any intra company resources this minority group can access for support within the company?
@be -Based on the company's history, and since the industry is cyclical, voluntary/involuntary separations on a larger scale has been about every 10-11 years. In 1995-1996 it was called 50 and out. In 2007-2008 it was the massive downturn. In 2017 it was the 18 month package. I'll admit I'm not "in the know" about separtion packages, but based on historical information, and based on the fact that there has been new employee orientation almost every week, I think something's brewing.
If you put your name in for an involuntary package, you will just be laid off with nothing on the next round. Do yourself a favor, mouth shut, head down, don’t make any waves and just bide your time until you are ready to retire or get another job.
Ford hasn’t offered voluntary packages in almost 10 years and they won’t ever again. You can put in your name for an involuntary package if they come up. But you can’t ever work at Ford again unless HR and a VP sign off. Which is no big deal in this age of Ford being a horrible company to work for.
