Thread regarding Kroger Co. layoffs

False alarm

I do not think lay offs are going to happen any time soon. They can’t afford the bad press. Every meeting isn’t “the big one”

@hv it's not hard to get results when past and majority of current leadership have fumbled one the 1 yard line. We've all seen them get away from customer first, great prices and culture. All they had to do was keep status quo.

That's why you see people like Jim getting promoted, all he's doing is cleaning up and enforcing existing processes on top of boot licking.

@je exactly, like I’m all sure we feel like layoffs are coming but don’t make statements if you don’t have actual proof and if you do have proof maybe say how you know it’s true.

Other than your cousins sister who also works at Kroger maybe saw a teams meeting that actually meant nothing.

@de I doubt anyone is safe.

Kroger does not care, they will run short staffed without a second thought.

We have multiple open spots right now that most likely will not be approved to fill.

@be nearly every year of my 15 year tenure the focus was on Culture and Customers. Suddenly now that Rodney is gone, culture is an afterthought. We're not asking for much, we are asking for transparency and for leadership to assure us they value us yet they can't even do that. It's not like Kroger was this amazing place to work at, it was okay but at least my vertical and leadership were honest about the direction of the company. Now I have no fu-kinf clue what's going on or what tomorrow brings. We're tired of being treated like a number. Get fu---d

New CEO is a joke and obviously temporary. He was picked to do one thing and that is trim the fat. If he's smart he'll get rid of all divisions and consolidate to one banner - will save billions in salaries and marketing.

Honestly he's very unlikable. The only thing he talks about is his time in New Zealand running an airline. Ironically never talks about his time at Walmart.

Total joke that Kroger picked a leader from the outside. Anyway, I'm not breaking my back for this fu--ing place. Lay me off so I can finally be happy.

Fu-k Yael, fu-k Jim. Worst "leaders" I've ever had

I think you will see Division realignment....this company is so top heavy with executives....Directors and above.

@OP we should all be giving this company bad press.

The media loves to run with Kroger stories.

We should all start emailing local stations with anonymous tips of how fu---d up and miserable this company is.

I can guarantee 75% of my department is actively looking for new employment and it’s not because of the job itself.

It’s because of poor leadership decisions and the most miserable office culture I’ve ever seen.

What’s so nice is that the miserable office culture could completely be avoided by reversing RTO polices or letting us work at least hybrid….you know like most of us were already doing prior to Covid.

Reorg is def coming. Whether or not you consider that layoffs or the number of roles removed entirely is up in the air.

New CEO just needs time to plan and decide what the reorg will be and look like.
