Skunk works more DF Apples fell from the tree

I read on teamblind reports that another former Apple Cobbler Senior Manager left the Skunk works. By the sound of it they were axed not voluntarily left on their own and no replacement announced sounds like corp. restructuring. DF was the first domino, wishing my CA colleagues the best. Polish your resumes!

Yeah still curious as to who this is. Oh well, they'll all be leaving at some point it looks like. Everything coming home to Kumar isn't going to end well for the egos in Long Beach. Pop some corn to see what happens when they hit an immovable object such as the manufacturing organization. It'll be fun.

2 years ago I posted that Skunks were to drain the budget for Doggy to lead the company down the drain. You got it !!! Keep flushing hard and listen BE- BE moves.

DF lives rent-free in the negative participants in this forum. They cannot face the truth.

@g3 “Rage quit” nope. Ask yourself why Doug and a Senior Manager who both had delusions of grandeur, claiming they were baking the best Blue Oval cake since the Model T, would walk out before the party even started. Doesn’t add up. Doug at least stuck around and put on a good show, but Mr. Nameless, because he’s clearly in hiding, probably growing a beard and having a full Forrest Gump moment, just vanished. Wasn’t seen in the office again, left with his head down and tail tucked. Both were fired and handed a golden parachute. Doug was the Celeb and had to play the part on the exit. Mr.Nameless was a stuffed shirt with a big head, but you are spot-on about the John Ternus statement and Apple. Hopefully the dominoes will fall and the other Apple Cobblers will exit, will be a good thing for Ford. The board’s patience with the experiment had clearly run out, leaving Farley with little room to maneuver.

"Only certain teams over at LB and GFL really know who he is, others prolly wouldnt have a clue."

Why would you be shook not many people on here would know who this is then? But apparently a DF worshiper that took it personally..git it.

I don't recall hearing any rumors about anyone leaving in that leadership chain as a result of DF departing. Oh well.

Ngl, kinda shook some of yall on here dont know who ths dude is. Word going around internally is he either got canned or straight up rage quit right after the Doug anouncement. I do know the guy had a crazy bulge in his pants for John Ternus and literally anthing Apple, like literal idol status for him. Only certain teams over at LB and GFL really know who he is, others prolly wouldnt have a clue. Def true that he was basically Mr Nepotism tho, straight up treated severl ppl like cr-p, and completely burned so many proffesional relationships.

@fr I'm sure that's why people are so bitter on this site, it has nothing to do with the unethical behavior of Senior Management.

You negative naysayers will be missing DF's leadership as much as I will when the repercussions arrive. The best leader Ford has had the past 5+ years is gone, and the company will not be better for it. I am severely disappointed in BF and JF.

I'm just popping corn and watching. I'm not sure when whatever is coming to be called is going to be called. Someone is going to have to call something, but you know they will wait until the very last minute to do that.

@c5 the guy you’re describing is a major a-hole. I know exactly who it is. Doug gave him preferential treatment the whole time. His former reports will follow him out the door because there’s zero runway for what they’re doing. The Apple tech bro experiment has failed. DF’s departure before launch and this clown explains it. What a legacy,FNV4 and now this.

Without Doug, I’m confused as to how we are to expect succes, this is like a cardiac surgeon leaving the OR mid procedure. 🤦‍♂️

Oh they'll get something across the line. It won't be pretty but it'll be something! Pop some corn. Those of you that are still there fighting that insane battle. God speed. You're gonna need it.

@be I worked at the Skunkworks until about a year ago, and a colleague who is still there texted me right after they heard the news. I believe the person involved was an LL3. In my experience, they were difficult to work with and lacked a solid understanding of both design and the automotive industry. They had a strong sense of entitlement and pushed some genuinely bad ideas. My former boss didn't get along with them, and the general consensus across our team was overwhelmingly negative. People actively dreaded meetings with their group and their d-mb ideas. They were also known for pushing people out, firing one person and offloading others who didn’t fit the mold to different teams just to get their way. On top of that, they showed a clear hiring bias by bringing on mostly ex-Apple employees, though that mentality really trickled down from Doug. I heard they played favorites and also promoted people without much merit. That sorta thing catches up to you eventually. I don’t think the program will survive, reason I left.

@b0 Not a rumor. I’m at the Long Beach facility and have direct visibility into what happened. Won’t name names, won’t give initials, won’t hint at the org. Read the Teamblind post, it’s accurate. People at that level don’t quietly disappear unless someone made the decision for them. That decision came directly after the Doug Field announcement. Make of that what you will.

Model e and Skunkworks will succeed regardless of what rumors or doubt that posts like this try to spread. DF set these organizations to transform the company to the modern form of mobility, not the legacy failures of the previous version of Ford Motor Company.

@OP

Well corp restructuring is exactly what it is. They said that when they informed everyone they were folding that organization back into manufacturing, didn't they? If people are smart, they'll jump ship like Doug did. Otherwise prepare at some point to be dismissed. No one wants to be stepping in front of that train...
