It’s not just the major rounds - they’re cutting teams all the time. A little off the top here, some layers there. If this keeps up, there won’t be anyone left to do the job by year’s end.

Well, that pretty much says it all, doesn't it? If you can't keep your head down and your mouth closed, we're sending your job to India where they can.
@en you obviously are not with Cigna. Major RIFs continue to happen this year (much higher numbers than last year). There is a lot of pressure to make the numbers especially after a poor Q4’ 2024. The overall headcount for non Medicare groups is much lower than a year ago.

I have submitted reports to Ethics “hotline” as well as informed 2 people in CIP. No action taken. They are so all in on the HIH strategy that they don’t care if it violates HIPAA or results in a massive data breach. It more important to save on payroll now even if it results in millions or billions of losses in fines and lost business later on.

@q4 they can submit “report and incident” and select privacy concern from the Iris page. That way someone has to look into it and it can’t be unseen.
Funny thing about the comment below is that they’re completely right regarding all the HIIPA violations going on at HIH.
A team lead of mine had to do some training for them and was shocked at how the trainee core group was openly admitting to using translating apps snapping photos to get a better understanding of the member situation.
Apparently my colleague talked to the HIH management and absolutely nothing was said to the team. Cigna just wants to turn a blind eye

Several thousand of those 65k are HIH, and they are not getting the job done. Aside from unapproved use of AI and secure data making it out of the HIH office, most of them require so much hand holding it drags the rest of us down. But you get what you pay for…

It's not just the layoffs. Its the lack of back filling positions when people leave voluntarily for jobs outside of the company.

The Only reason it’s 65K instead of 70K is the sale to HCSC. Since that day of the sale, MONTHS AGO, we have been at 65K. Don’t skew facts to make them look in favor for your false argument. The major layoffs were over a year and half ago, besides regular housekeeping that happens at every Fortune 500 company.
Getting harder to hang around for a severance package?! You are truly the one who hasn’t done research besides theories from here.

@a5 The layoffs in the past year have involved high performers in senior/lead roles that have been with the company for more than 12 years. There is an IT hiring freeze in the states. Why am I required to go to the office when the IT manager and employees are now offshore?
my team works in conjunction with other teams and everyone seems to be working to prove and justify their positions while being miserable. It’s really a weird energy at Cigna right now. A bit of a shame, I used to be proud to work here and now I’m just watching my back from colleagues and also the monitoring and tracking systems
I’ve been here 12 years.
I don’t recall a spring that was without layoffs.
Some years there are more that others, but there have always been layoffs.

Down from over 70k, and after hiring thousands in HIH. A layoff is a layoff, even if you personally aren’t the one affected.
Let’s not forget that Cigna is deliberately making life increasingly uncomfortable for its “valued” employees, with the RTO mandates, lowered PTO carryover, increased employee contributions to the Company’s health care benefits, and much less trust of the people they have hired by increased employee monitoring.
It’s getting much harder to hang on and wait for a severance package. The overall job market su-ks now, making it hard to leave.
If you’re reading this forum because you are doing research and are considering working at Cigna, I would give it a pass unless you are desperate.
