@c3
it is precisely the problem

they are living off of what caucasians have built and not providing anything new themselves

caucasians are getting swapped out for people that can do less and are less costly

the extra savings then gets passed up to the parasites on top

Old news that Ford is not an American operating company.

Design, Engineering and testing moved long time ago to Brazil, Australia, UK, Mexico…

On top of that current positions being filled by H1B’s and contract.

The bottom line here is that you cannot trust anything your management tells you unless it's about separation. Everything else that comes from them is BS. Take your bonus, keep your head down, plan your exit. The association and reliance on Chinese partnership is not a good sign to the degree it's happening. Just nod your head, comply and do the only thing you can do: eventually move on or plan to be atrritioned out due to a Re-org.

Browns is a plague of all companies , every time Ind-n manager, never get a job. Proved 1000 interviews. Almost all engineers under ind-n manager are f. indians.

If people are down voting this because they don't like what they are reading, that's ok. But don't fool yourself into thinking that this isn't happening. If you are a talented engineer and looking forward to your career planning, take this into account. Making some long terms plans for your career, its unlikely that Ford will be a place to hang your hat for more then a few years.

Desperation at the Factory Gates

Ford's European operations are bleeding, and the cure might be a partnership with the very rivals that are outmaneuvering them. Eight sources have confirmed that Ford and Geely are hammering out a deal that would allow the Chinese firm to utilize Ford’s excess capacity, specifically eyeing the Valencia plant in Spain. For Ford, this is a move of pure fiscal pragmatism—it’s better to rent out the shop floor than to let it sit idle as local demand for their own lackluster EV lineup fails to materialize.

The negotiations have reached a critical fever pitch. Following an executive summit in Michigan, Ford dispatched a senior delegation to China this week to finalize terms that have been in development for months. While Ford publicists claim these are "routine discussions," the reality is a frantic attempt to stabilize a manufacturing footprint that has seen the Cologne plant reduced to a limited work schedule and Saarlouis facing an uncertain future.

The High Price of Chinese Software

This deal isn't just about floor space; it’s about a desperate grab for hardware relevance. Two sources indicate that the framework includes a swap for Geely’s autonomous driving technology, specifically systems like G-ASD that are already operational in Zeekr and Lynk & Co vehicles. Ford is essentially admitting that its own "eyes-off" R&D is lagging, choosing instead to outsource the brains of its future fleet to a Chinese competitor.

However, bringing this tech home to the States remains a legal minefield. While Geely-owned brands like Volvo and Lotus have a foothold in the U.S., the current administration's 125% tariff on China-made EVs and a hard ban on Chinese-linked vehicle software effectively wall off the American market. Ford is walking a razor's edge, trying to survive in Europe by cozying up to China without triggering a regulatory backlash that could gut its domestic reputation.

Mechanical Integrity vs. Political Reality

For the American professional who values a truck built with domestic hardware, Ford’s increasing reliance on Chinese licensing is a troubling trend. From the CATL battery licensing in Michigan to this potential Geely tie-up in Spain, the "Blue Oval" is becoming a shell for foreign intellectual property. If Ford succeeds in Valencia, you might soon be driving an American-badged vehicle that is fundamentally a Geely under the skin.
