Now I see what prompted the new hairdo. The speech sounds very similar to the quarterly update calls.
@14m Do you have a link at to the hearings? I would love to hear what excuses high level executives gave. Was the word headwinds used? Such a stupid word. I wonder what trending leadership book they got that from.
Most of the jobs RIF'd went to foreign countries where workers are paid a fraction of US wages. Indian talent agencies are having problems filling these positions and have been seen advertising help want for said jobs on US job sites.
Several insurance companies, including Elevance are testifying before congressional committees, trying to justify these profits and their ownership of other entities like clinics and pharmacies. These publicly traded companies are beholden only to their investors. They have no time to worry about members or employees.
After spending 20 years in the industry and giving it my all, only to be thrown out like trash, I have high hopes that congress will actually rip the a$$ of these people wide open and leave them to rot on the ground they stand on. Listening to Gail B.'s passive aggressive responses to questions in the hearings is maddening and the sound of her voice makes me feel physically ill.
@bd My guess would be part of what would have been our bonuses went to making 2025 profits look better and part of it went into the pockets of the C suite.
