Many job ads are posted by recruiters, and there are really no positions open. The recruiters are looking for a handful of golden applicants and collecting resumes. From there, they'll try to sell you to potential employers and make their cut.
Some recruiters work freelance, and some work for a small group of companies.
I work in HR and recruiting. I will post an ad at any rumor of a potential opening. Sometimes the job opening never materializes, even after interviews.

Took me a while, a total of 9 to 10 months. I just kept on interviewing and interviewing until i got an offer beginning of December. It's a bit of a grind, but me personally just keep applying and next-next-next on those interviews.
Some people found jobs, but their experience in Intel in LinkedIn was highly exaggerated.
Retrain yourself for another skill.

Openings of the kind that J.E. and his ilk used to provide. Openings that he abused to ensnare them in traps of a kind they cannot escape.

Look into other industries for employment. Retrain yourself for another skill. It will be years before there is a hiring bo-m in the high-tech industry.

In general it's because when we are stacked up against people from other companies in an interview. It becomes clear how the rotten culture has infected us.
Folks fear the sh-t spreading and hire the other person that lacks the currently supercharged and loaded public sentiment.
We are a risk and liability.
