Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Has anyone been getting job offers?

After eight interviews, one of which went for five rounds, I still have nothing. I’m starting to develop a complex.

No one wants to hire us. We are considered worst in the industry

You are at least getting interviews! I got nothing yet (except the standard ATS driven rejection emails) during the last 2 months!

You need a good cologne for in person interviews. This will differentiate you

You'll go through many 100s of applications before landing something.

Many job ads are posted by recruiters, and there are really no positions open. The recruiters are looking for a handful of golden applicants and collecting resumes. From there, they'll try to sell you to potential employers and make their cut.

Some recruiters work freelance, and some work for a small group of companies.

I work in HR and recruiting. I will post an ad at any rumor of a potential opening. Sometimes the job opening never materializes, even after interviews.

Just keep applying, and good luck!

Took me a while, a total of 9 to 10 months. I just kept on interviewing and interviewing until i got an offer beginning of December. It's a bit of a grind, but me personally just keep applying and next-next-next on those interviews.

Some people found jobs, but their experience in Intel in LinkedIn was highly exaggerated.

Retrain yourself for another skill.

I hear there are those on high that are looking for openings.

Openings of the kind that J.E. and his ilk used to provide. Openings that he abused to ensnare them in traps of a kind they cannot escape.

Yes, there are openings.

Look into other industries for employment. Retrain yourself for another skill. It will be years before there is a hiring bo-m in the high-tech industry.

@OP Maybe being a 55 year old foup-wrangler is not a skill that translates well to other industries?

In general it's because when we are stacked up against people from other companies in an interview. It becomes clear how the rotten culture has infected us.

Folks fear the sh-t spreading and hire the other person that lacks the currently supercharged and loaded public sentiment.

We are a risk and liability.
