Cigna Evernorth
Morris Plains, New Jersey

  • Global health insurer Cigna has conducted its fourth round of layoffs this year at its Evernorth Health Services office in Morris Plains. The latest cuts affect 62 employees across tech and operations departments. The company says the reductions are part of ongoing organizational restructuring aimed at improving efficiency across its pharmacy and care benefits operations. This follows earlier layoffs in March and April, with the company emphasizing support services for those affected.

@rt yep. My friend’s nice graduated this year with a D&A degree which she completed in two years. She now says her master’s degree is obsolete.

@tb

The time of the accountant is over.
The time of AI accountancy has begun.

@rt I don’t work in tech, hypothetically speaking, if AI takes over most technical jobs where do other jobs stand? Accounting, marketing, etc?

@rj
Data and analytics will no longer be a viable career field within the next 10 years.

Every position from data intake and architecture all the way through to report development will be AI.

@OP 62 jobs is nothing but AI will wipe Evernorth data analytics to its core.

@bd seriously? In 2024, Evernorth accounted for roughly 82% of Cigna's total revenue. Listen to the earnings announcements. Have you heard of Accredo and Express Scripts.

Four? That made me laugh. These lay offs have been happening monthly for at least 2 years on the QT.

@e6 because Cigna is doing it in small groups 62 this week, 22 another week, and so on. If they did a massive layoff like Microsoft just did then it would be news as it was with them. Cigna is basically being shady in doing it to avoid the news attention.

Why are the news outlets not disclosing that new jobs are being outsourced to HIH?
