Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

How Tone Def Can Tom Be?

Anyone else see the horrifically d-mb speech by Tom during the football game? I’m seeing it blowing up on social media - basically he called a te------t “just an imperfection” and said we need to overcome an addiction to divisiveness and negativity.

Come on Tom (let’s be honest, a PR firm wrote that for him) - this was a te------t attack. This wasn’t someone calling someone else names.

Many high-quality firms have walked away from DEI---how about Tom and Allstate? All should favor equal opportunity, and not necessarily forced equal outcomes. Merit matters....or at least it used to matter!

Do we expect anything less from our incompetent, out of his league wet brained CEO who in a drunken stupor openly spoke of "the blacks and the browns" when discussing the failure and joke that has been DEI in this company?

A pure circus through and through....

Awaiting his next public appearance to opine about the California fires. He's not likely to place any blame on poor CA democratic political leadership that failed to enact reasonable prevention/mitigation tactics, or to properly fund the fire resources. The fire is awful and was destined to be historic based on wind and lack of rain, but perhaps there were some actions that may have reduced its scope. On second thought, maybe the PR folks keep him on lock down till they make their SEC filing on expected CAT losses next month.

TW is a typical Chicago sc-mbag politician. Any further explanation needed?

Another example of your personal and political beliefs, and out of touch with reality getting in the way of being a CEO! Playing games with your other millionaire friends, as you said you do, and watching your neighbor on the trampoline or working out, as you said, does not connect you with the people who buy your products. Think about that! Start thinking about what you say!

Tom made it on Gutfeld and played his awful commentary
One of the panelists commented Allstate is the worst and compared it to the Bud lite commercial
Shame on you Tommy

Arrogant leader with a know it all attitude, that likely modified an appropriate statement prepared by his communications team despite their guidance. Overall his message isn't wrong, but combining the te------t event with a call for less divisiveness is simply wrong, reflecting his typically poor timing or judgment. Buffet would fire him for damaging the brand. Allstate got into the Sugar Bowl sponsorship after Hurricane Katrina to try to rebuild its brand given the bad publicity (wind vs flood damage). And the sponsorship was likely cheap at the time. Now the media uproar has come full circle requiring another reputational rehabilitation.

TW is a disgrace to this company. Always has been. The man has no clue and no business acumen. He needs to go now!

His comments show 100% what Allstate has become and why our policyholders need to disconnect with this woke cesspool liberal garbage of a company. This company cares more about their DEI loving a--kissers and DEI management hires more than protecting their policyholders. That much is evident by the processes I am forced to follow to purposely lowball and try to find ways to sc--w our customers out of claims settlements. To make the claimants the responsible parties. I am simply here for a paycheck and hopefully a package ASAP. TW, Allstate's woke management, its DEI department, and the foreign vendors who have replaced so many American jobs can all go straight to He-l.

Who is suprised by his incompetent statement? Amazing how quickly they took it down.

Tom’s word salad of a “statement” should surprise no one. Inside of making an empathetic statement for victims, he instead tasks everyone else to right their behavior after a te------t attack. Allstate wants to play in the DEI space, but lacks a backbone to take a stance. How pathetic.

Making a message this soon after this te------t attack at your signature event , you have to approach it like you're in a room with the caskets of the deceased, the survivors fighting for their lives in the hospital and the family and friends impacted by this monumental loss. So if Wilson feels his communication empathized with the gravity of the situation and has a clean conscience, then that's all he needs to care about. But in my personal opinion, while his language was standard DEI rhetoric which really neither makes or breaks my day, I find it sad and totally disconnected with the audience. That seems to also be the same reaction from the majority as this story continues to spiral out of control. My prayers are with everyone impacted by this tragedy and express my utter disgust toward anyone connected to this action. But I know with adversity, comes strength which is what we as Americans are best at. God Bless the USA.

@c4 - this is how my entire team basically acts in huddles. Thanking management for their nonsensical statements and invalid criticisms of our work and non-stop praising of anything IDE-related at all. It's also pretty clear from the treatment on our team that non-whites are significantly favored.

There are comments on the AllConnect Home page. His speech is there and I'm surprised at the people responding with "Well said!" and "Beautiful sentiment." Give me a break! He is basically watering down a te------t attack and implying we should all just get along and accept each other. Disgusted by it. At least a few comments are calling him out for it.

I agree that his words were weak and tone-deaf, and whoever wrote his speech did a poor job. But he did not say what @OP is implying at all.

He said that "the tragedy struck the New Orleans community", conveniently avoiding the word “te------t”. He did mention the need to overcome an addiction to divisiveness and negativity (whatever that means). At the end, he invited everyone to join Allstate in working with local communities across America to "(yada yada yada)… increase trust and accept people’s imperfections and differences."

Tom Wilson continues to show the world what a dum--ss he is. What else can he do to ruin what was a good company? The employees and shareholders of the company should be completely and utterly embarrassed by his statement today. Thanks Tom for showing the world why NOT to be an Allstate policyholder!
