Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Got laid off after a br---t cancer diagnosis a month before. It's he-l on earth looking at the COBRA payments on top of what you're already dealing with.

@c6 Came here to say I am SO SORRY this happened to you. I was part of the January RIF and the decision makers at this company are seriously insane. I know it doesn't help you too much, but I do have a friend who was in almost your same shoes years ago and actually was hired by UHC while pregnant in the final trimester. Don't give up hope and keep trying, I really pray you find something soon because you certainly don't need the added stress.

@a9 I’m an NP and was let go yesterday and I am pregnant as well. The unbelievably sketchy way they went about all of this really robbed me of a decent opportunity to find a replacement job without being discriminated against for being pregnant. And now, finding and starting a job in time to have my benefits in full effect by my delivery date is close to impossible. This company will never get a positive remark from me after this

For those who dont understand why those no longer with the company come here to post or read the demise of this company daily trauma, well it is like a soap opera. As Optum Burns.

@bc I was on a team that had about 12 managers over the years. Some only lasting a couple of months or being fired .

"Sometimes it makes me sad, though... Andy being gone. I have to remind myself that some birds aren't meant to be caged. Their feathers are just too bright. And when they fly away, the part of you that knows it was a sin to lock them up DOES rejoice. But still, the place you live in is that much more drab and empty that they're gone. I guess I just miss my friend."

@b9 imagine thinking that because something doesn’t affect you personally it doesn’t affect anyone else. Also imagine you, not having a life an continuing to post on this site literally everyday just to get a rise of out people because you are old used up and have nothing better to do. Aww so sad. Maybe if you were nicer people would have wanted to stay in your life. Poor you

They don't care if you are pregnant, older, or a protected class. The organization is crumbling, start networking now. They will continue the layoffs into April and Leadership knows ahead of time. This is the most toxic, disorganized workplace I have ever worked in. Every day you are just waiting for the call.

Yesterday felt like a full as--ult of the company against its employees. A literal bloodbath. The economy su-ks right now and I sympathize for those who now have to struggle to find another job or gif forbid, end up in horrible situations.
Take it from me, a severely dedicated employee, watch out for yourselves and spend as much of your working day preparing/looking for new opportunities. Why dedicate yourselves (especially those onshore) to a sinking ship with toxic leadership that has been ordered to offshore everything? Please wake up, save yourselves
