For anyone close to MW and ELT, what are they saying about the absolutely dreadful morale at Chevron? I'd like to hear their discussions about how they think any of this is good for the company.

PB was the most transparent of them all!!! It all started with that one email..
MW is too busy padding his bank accounts with his $32M salary and trying to initiate a stock bounce for an immediate exit to industry directorships to be worried about employee morale. Morale and culture are simply commodities that can be bartered for enhancing short term stock value which is what the real driver is. There is no long term strategy for this company. We have been and will continue to chase the ghosts of what the energy industry leaders are doing in the hopes of catching some of their afterglow. It's sad to see how he has destroyed a once great company that once valued it's people. Dumping all your experienced people and replacing them with twenty somethings and remote foreign workers is not the hallmark of winning strategy. It's sheer cost cutting without a legacy plan. Look at where you are in your career and plan accordingly. Be prepared when they pull the kn--e out again because they have no loyalties other than to themselves and have no care to anyone as to how much they have already given to this company. Maybe MW will get his stock bounce soon and subsequently leave and give his successor a chance to pull this out of the fire. Unfortunately NH is gone and I don't see anyone in the ranks that is capable of doing this. As a result, I don't see Chevron being relevant in the next 7 to 10 years.
@bc oh yes they do

His thoughts? Too busy enjoying that record breaking luxury condo to give a hoot about us. Note the closing date of June 2024. Ask yourself how much advance notice he had to get situated before announcing HQ move to Houston.
Gotta compete with Exxon, the masters of destroying employee morale.
We have a phrase for this type of care “Human Energy”
Op: those close to MW do not come to these sites to waste their time, ps: Hello does not think or care about morale, what matters is to execute the decision on their timeline and make sure to deflect any side effects and sugar coat any small positive results and take credit for it and broadcast it on TV and news and social media.
Hi, I am MW, and I have no thoughts, and you are?
They don’t care. ELT and BOD plan each layoff/reorganization move several years before implementation. While layoffs occur this most recent one has been filled with lies. They could have made business decisions with similar results without causing so much pain for remaining high performers who survived 2020 ( and previous layoffs). They clearly no longer value “ Chevron Way” nor decency. This new business model will cost them.
MW doesn’t care.
