Half my team is now outsourced to the Philippines and it’s a headache working with them. First I have like 2 hours of overlap with them due to time difference and they never want to show up to meetings. Second they just don’t know what they’re doing and are either unwilling or unable to learn. Any work given to them either doesn’t get done or is done incorrectly.
Then I have to chase them down and try to show them how to do it and they tell me they they get and will get it done but then it never happens. They’re supposed to be helping the team but instead I’m busy every day picking up the pieces.
Out of the 10+ people, there’s only one competent one. Pretty pathetic the bank is trying to save money yet they’re paying multiple people that generate pretty much zero quality work. Granted part of it is there are no people on the Philippines side who can train these workers and provide leadership but if the labor market is not mature enough there, then why hire there?
