Did they really sell the brand new building?! What does that mean to the employees that work there? Are there going to be layoffs or not?

@bbc: This is not part of the rooftop consolidation. Nobody is moving.
The current owner of the Charlotte Honeywell site Lincoln Harris and Goldman Sachs Asset Management sold the building to PRP Real Estate Investment Management in Charlotte for $275 million.
Honeywell simply leases the building and pays rent like they do at a majority of their sites.
Honeywell has been reducing rooftops for years. Sold Morristown site, Morris Plains site, closing and consolidation all around the US.
They sold the employees too.
When you sign an employment agreement at Honeywell, one thing you agree to is the sale of your physical body and soul. It helps Honeywells bottom line and increase their assets.
You should be thankful. Every building honeywell owns is a toxic superfund site.
Well that is an exaggeration. Only a few make the top 100 most polluted places in the united state.

Since we are talking charlotte-- Here is one in North Carolina... https://cumulis.epa.gov/supercpad/cursites/csitinfo.cfm?id=0403159
Honeywell has been a real winner when it comes to property stewardship.
Just vist any large site in the US... everyone of them owned by honeywell is a dump.
Of course the new buildings in mexico and PR are just warehouses... much like that amazon building that collapsed. Hey PR .. do you have reinforced bunkers to hide in like the amazon building ? You get earthquakes. I bet not.
The building in question is the Charlotte Corp HQ. They did not sell the building. They never owned it. They were renting from the previous owners. They signed a 15 year lease with the new owners.

What building?
No. They did not sell the building since they don't own it (HON is a renter). The previous owners sold the building, but I assume HON will continue to rent from the new owners.
