Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Can you get fired for saying anything bad about working at Fidelity?

Let’s hypothetically say I was texting my friend saying that Fidelity is a bad place to work for, or other things negative about Fidelity. Things like “Fidelity su-ks”, “this is a trash a-s company”, or other reasons why Fidelity su-ks. And then someone shows Fidelity HR my comments about me complaining about Fidelity.

In this hypothetical situation, could I get fired for that? Thanks in advance.

That’s one the only reasons you will get fired.

Retaliation, discrimination , those are fine in the company culture, just don’t say anything that will make someone think something bad.

This is why I have not uploaded teams in my personal cellphone - I'm not a brain surgeon - I don't need to be tethered to fidelity 24/7

Ask the guy that can fired in Durham for posting a video showing associates had to park in the grass when they made everyone RTO.

Fidelity Lawyer told us all "You have no friends at work, just coworkers". Basically anything and everything can get you fired. Trust no one

@cy what if someone who is a Fidelity employee called a specific someone who is very high up and world renown the company a very bad word. I remember someone here calling one of the highest up people the disrespectful c word. Or even referring to the firm as a whole as bunch of c words. Could that be used against someone who works against Fidelity as a fireable offense?

@bb Those were for morality. (or lack there of). Saying the company su-ks will not get your fired. However, if HR is aware, I am sure its in your file somewhere.

Ironically, was just watching a video about hundreds of folks getting fired across the country in a variety of jobs for saying bad things on social media.

I’ve talked a lot of s#it about fidelity with some other coworkers on teams chats and never got any type of punishment. I’ve even seen VPs and such say worse stuff about abby or other leaders. It’s not north korea, they’re monitoring for regulatory or compliance violations in chats, not shooting the breeze. Ymmv though depending on your leadership and what you say.

Was it on a company phone? If yes, than yes?
Was the recipient another employee or customer? Then maybe?

OP here again. What if an employee at fid started referring to the fid as some deeply insulting terms in some private text messages? Such as “_ fidelity, they’re a bunch of __s” or something like that.

This wasn’t me, thankfully, I’m just curious. Can someone get fired for that too?
