Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Do we really think past reviews won’t come into play during selection ? I personally don’t buy it

When I was asked to review candidates who applied to my positions I could not see any past performance rankings, only what their selection rep rated them. High performers are generally known by reputation though

@by Are the ratings for specific positions applying to or just general competency?

@bb that has really nothing to do with pmp ratings unless the selection rep actually asks supervisors to review past ratings.

Those ratings in the selection tool are just for selection reps to assess what they alone think those employees are. They don’t even have to validate with supervisors if they were lazy.

When your manager is competing for the job you currently have, I’m guessing they didn’t try their hardest to convince anyone that you are the person for the job.

They know some people better than others. If you’re an NPC they might need a little more back story

On the list they get, “deliver results” and “chevron behaviors” are listed alongside your PSG and ranked by SP, P, and VP….so probably.

It’s a mix. It depends on how much due diligence the job owners and reps are doing.

I know some job owners and reps who don’t know their people but putting employees on PIPs on their shortlist because they don’t see ratings

It’s CVX. Performance does not matter!

My selection rep, who is also the job owner of several jobs I was interested in reached out to my supervisor before I was told who my selection rep was and before jobs came out. So PMPs may not be used directly but supervisors are telling the story of what kind of worker you are regardless.

Maybe the ratings are not being shown. The story from your supervisor on your performance is…which is the same thing.

@ae I agree they should , the message all along was that past PMPs would not be included as part of the process. Heard during the 26-27 some mangers requested the last two years.

For sure, they look at all reviews past and present. Why wouldn't they?
