Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Non-ELT GP perspectives

Would like to hear from any non-ELT GP on here. I assume those remaining support the culture changes. Do you? Is there something we aren’t getting?

Honestly curious.

@1af agree. the remaining GPs are in on it and buying what pp is selling. Big $ for them, sc--w everyone else. be open about it GP ghouls. stop smiling

we’re talking about wealthy people who sc--wed thousands of workers to fractionally increase their already substantial personal wealth. everyone was doing well and getting a share, but they wanted more faster. simple greed

good news. they are passive aggressive cowards. look them in their dead eyes when you pass them. hope the extra money was worth having thousands of people hate you.

hmm have 200 million and be respected or 300 million and be reviled? that’s them. id--ts

@19j We were talking about this today (in the wonderful office!) It seems as if things are going to get worse. Much worse over the next 6-9 months. PP and the ELT are not yet done destroying this place.

After seeing the retiring GPs list on Amplify today, one that is on there does not shock me. Def knew the changes would run them off… there are a few others I’m not shocked about either, or step downs. Some of those on the list are amazing with huge impacts to the firm over the years. So sad…

ELT is happy as pigs in sh!t watching people leave and step down.

@dx you left out spending time breaking things that are working perfectly fine and refusing to fix things that are on fire. They are very good at having meetings to discuss the next meeting where an update will be made using AI slop, power point, corporate jargon, and the only solution is more overseas contractors.

@ba yes. gps mostly spend their energy on social dynamics and office politics. this is ideal space for them.

@a3 , I've had a few conversations with now retired GPs. I don't believe they had faith in the way the firm was run and got out before the domino's start falling. It will get worse before it gets better.

As someone who worked very closely with a GP who retired two years earlier than they planned b/c they didn’t like the coming changes… I think those GPs who didn’t agree already left the firm.

Sure, some GPs may have since changed their minds, but I think they are all just Elt’s minions too. Hopefully they reply and change my mind.
