HR isn’t there for employees, no matter what they claim. They exist to protect the company. Learned that the hard way after reporting an issue and getting sidelined. Don't make the same stupid mistake I did.

If I had something worth taking to HR, I take it to a lawyer first.
I would say it depends on who your HR person is. I’ve been lucky to have some really great support as both an employee and also managing people over my years but I’ve heard similar horror stories from others in various parts of the company.
Exactly. HR is never FOR the employees. Everyone should learn and know this.
I hear people, all the time, say, "I'm going to take this to HR." Wrong. Don't be silly, they'll stand with your manager even if he's the one with the g-n.
