Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Boomers/Bootlickers are out in Force 😂

I swear their comments basically make this place Facebook.

I'm fully convinced they're suffering from some level of lead poisoning.

The thought of considering another POV/angle on an issue is so foreign the them. That instead of taking the time to understand at a 3rd grade level what the issues are today weight as well be explaining doctorate level astrophysics.

For those of you 50+ that can understand how the messages said by the CEO were so off and outside the norm of leadership , especially at a CEO level, thank you.

For those of you 50+ who defaulted to calling people cry babies, saying we don't work hard, we should work to strengthen the company, I'm glad you have the least amount of time left at this, and every other company out there.

You have the least amount of time out of anyone. I would advocate for maybe considering other perspectives but it doesn't matter. If you're complacent living your life like that and want to be miserable / make those around you feel the same way, at least do it in a way where maybe you can convince others that you have a medical condition that makes you act that way, give your friends and family an out when they have to explain your behavior.

Keep thinking the CEO/Board of Directors/Managers care about you. I've had coworkers with 20+ years get laid off.

Just prepare for the if/when you get laid off you go through the pain of applying for modern jobs bring. And because of your age you'll get denied at a higher rate than my generation. But it's okay just walk right into the job you want and ask to talk to the manager right ?

It doesn't matter for that generation. It's like talking to a wall. An angry, bloaty, maybe at best have 15 years left to live and choose to worship a CEO wall.

Funny how the poster is saying that people who do their job and rto are boot lickers to leadership. If that's the case then I guess you're the opposite and you're a boot li---r to everyone else. As far as I'm concerned there's less boots to lick at leadership then there are with everyone else. I guess you like to su-k on more toes and kiss boots and those who are not whining complaining. At least those who are doing their job and RTO are going to survive and grow in their career. Meanwhile you'll be jobless and complaining about how the world is against you and you're a victim.

You're free to leave if you don't like the discussions being had here. Nobody's keeping you here. Quit whining, grow up.

Grow up. So sick of all the whining. Do you ever tire of it?!? Nobody is forcing you to be here, there’s plenty of qualified people looking to take your spot and nobody will remember you when you’re gone. Welcome to Corporate America. Maybe it’s just not the right fit and you need something more aligned with your mental health needs, work ethic and career goals.
The rest of us that have been through many layoffs know what it’s like to be without a job or watch our friends be walked out. You clearly haven’t seen or felt what a difficult workplace really looks like.
Take a look at LinkedIn and see the average number of people applying for jobs. It’s over 200 per posting and that doesn’t include internal or direct.
The company doesn’t owe anyone anything and it’s not that bad. I’m not 50 or in HR. I’m also fully capable of having this opinion and not be fully in agreement with all of leaderships decisions.

Sorry, I forgot we were being PC here. I mean to say "lead paint enthusiasts", which is of course not tied to any specific age group, although certain age groups seem to have a lot more of them than others.

Very few Boomers are left at the bank. Gen X is running things with millennials.

You sound like you haven't done a lick of work in 20 years. You want to see someone who's a drag on their team, look in the mirror. It's the 25 to lifers who have spent their whole career in the disaster that is US Bank that cause the most harm, slow down the most processes, prevent anything from actually getting done because they want to hear themselves yap for hours on end like an untrained dog. Please, do the world a favor.

Just to clarify -- the youngest Boomer would be 61. Boomers were born between 1946-1964. Most Boomers are retired. A 50-year-old would be a young Gen Xer -- you know, the forgotten generation. I'm not 50 yet (but almost) and was appalled by what our new CEO said on the call, and I already know that it's tough out there in today's world trying to get a new job. Just some generalizations and assertions that were incorrect.

The best part about this is how the title was like boomer bait. They couldn’t help themselves 🤣🤣

You sound like a entitled brat that would drag down your team and make others pick up the work for you because you're too lazy to do your job while posting complaints about how you've been mistreated unfairly during work hours.
