Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Did everyone in IT get AEOI?

Or only specific teams? I see some people on the board did not get it, so just curious.

In the recent meetings they provided a verbal timeline for the selection process. I understand some people may have missed the meetings and some may have been daydreaming as Balaji was patting himself on the back. :)
Late March = In scope people contacted
April = application process
Late May / Early June = People told if they are toast or they received job positions.
Mid June = PDC for the blessed few cronies who will get saved by a "Hail Mary" in a must place role
July 1st = New org in Place

Keep in mind Chevron probably cannot retool the new staff who are relacing us in lower cost countries on July 1st so there are people that will be offered transition roles to carry the burden of the work until a later date. These "transition" positions are already defined in the SharePoint site and state 1 year extension until the last day of employment.
Essentially Chevron will be "using" us to document our work so the new workforce can learn what to perform when the experienced people leave.
If people find a new job outside Chevron during this time period, then they will forfeit their severance package but you will get a new position without losing your job at Chevron before you move to a new company.
The layoff is carefully executed and the information is being handed out in small pieces so the workforce does not know what is really going on. Chevron is the master of propaganda and carefully crafting "The Brand".
Think about this, would the MAGA voters agree with Chevron laying off 9,000 American workers and replace the American workforce with out of country staff while Trump explains tariffs are going to return jobs to the USA. These concepts are counter intuitive however, Trump is not making any tax incentives to keep American workers employed in the US.
I hope the billionaires can still purchase Chevron's overpriced gasoline...

@b7+1jn8zn4d5 how soon do you think they will post the positions that will be opened for selection in Wave 1? I guess I wanna know what positions are left for IT US folks. To the folks who AEOI'd already, what are your data points / factors?

@b4+1jn8zn4d5 - IT is in Wave 1 which is first half of the year so I was guessing June is when left standing IT people are gone. That's what I meant. I think there are other functions too in Wave 1, not sure which ones they were but yeah all Wave 1 laid off people will be done in a few months.

@ab+1jn8zn4d5 you sure it is only IT? 20% across each function. I do hope if IT is targeted, then be it the useless management, advisors and platform leaders. Drag this whole layoff mess with them. Not the factory floor workers.

is this kinder...everyone got it lol
and if you can't calculate what 2 weeks per year of service is and need it broken down in Workday for you, maybe you should not be working here lol

Email was sent to everyone in the US regardless of function.

I recall seeing the potential severance offer in Workday, then it was gone soon after. I figured there would be a concrete solid communication on your walking money before ever considering going to the AEOI App.
Thoughts? Am I missing something? I know the calculations are straight forward, but it would be nice to see it in black and white.

IT people could be out the door by 1st half of the year. That means we got only few more months to end a long career at the company. I am thankful they at least make the process transparent and treat people with respect and give severance, unlike some companies that just send an email on a Friday. Think how Meta layoffs people.

mine was at approximately 9 AM CST on Friday morning. Wish I was late enough in my career to take the EOI and move on but I got to sweat it out in the selection process in my Phase 1 Wave. :)
The drama continues....

At minimum…. If you are in the US, PSG 30 and below, not on disability or hourly, then you got it. If you didn’t get the email and are an employee, check your spam folder.
