Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Job cuts finally arrive next week

They did the humane thing and waited until after the break.

Good luck with your job searches in the new year. Take care all.

Model E will be hit the hardest. Too many people in that org. Lots of LL6 who have no reports. Their roles are scheduled to be axed.

@ay or ecosystem events, or institutions. they wont help you grow. they will try to humble you. its embarrassing to get involved, even if you get invited. or lets say someone harmed you like crazy and theyll come pretending to help you, that is also embarrassing. its all embarrassing. its dangerous for society. they will try to humble you. ask yourself why, because its easier to control you the next time... and sometimes in turn squandering neuro-development, building resentment, trust issues, and things that just dont help society. i know alot of great people that could be giving their gift to society right now, but i barely see them go out using it. why is that?

@b6 You sound like you'd accidentally create addictive systems and then have to hold back on purpose because people would lose their lives in it through this gamification. I hope you never designed or games, you would be a dangerous threat to society. Thank god you're building f150 and keeping dr-gs off these streets mister. rebranding and downsizing baby. hopefully some other cr------d doesnt start peddling something far more dangerous since you created that gap in the unsaturated market of cracked gamification growth hacking strategists. sorry my english isn't very good

@b5 Psychology speaking, we need a end point. Think infinite scrolling on social vs pagination on google. If pagination is 1...2...3....4... typically you will search and stay on page one... if the pagination is "show more"... you will click it more often but probably not reach to four, maybe once or twice - depending. if it's infinite scrolling, it's a lot longer. people need endpoints, like okay i am going to stop at page 5 of this book and then go to sleep. now think about having the stimulus in the environment, one loses track of time how, because it's not present and they don't see it in front of them. now think about your phone, imagine scrolling on tiktok with the hud (heads up display) overlay which is like the toolbar thing at the top showing you the current time on your phone, imagine scrolling tiktok and having the time hud visible vs not being visible, if the time is not visible while you're scrolling, you'll scroll for longer. with my business education from ross, i will apply this advanced super level psychology i have learned by placing a calendar, no wait, a heads up display monitor with your comment displayed alongside the current date and some other gamification like time until feb 2 and stuff. this will ensure 100% efficiency for us like as if the hawthorne effect is being in play and youre watching us push to the finish line of feb 2. thank you for your service. we needed the nudge. f150 lightning by feb 1st. coming soon. you are an inspiration!

@ax That sh-t is done to humble people for a distraction when they ask too many questions. It's fabricated to knock ambitious people down a peg and control narrative

@ay I think the most GENUINE advice, and I mean in a way that is completely honest as a warning would be to avoid large LOCAL corporations, especially when you're young, and already marginalized in your environment from before, they'll take advantage of that. I'm not even kidding. Especially if you have any indicators that show you can't go against a local giant that provides many jobs. If deals are being made where practically free money is being flown over to create bullsh-t jobs, this is a main indicator that there is some sort of corruption and you won't like wasting your time. It is almost always best to go find an environment that is not like this, but if you're stuck for various reasons, then it's best to stay away. That goes for the ecosystem to... but this doesn't apply for non-cracked / non-outlier individuals. Sorry if that sounds bad, but this is just real truth. People that are not marginalized we'll simply have more protection, you won't look vulnerable / someone can exploit so they won't do that with you. They may even steal a marginalized person's swag and give it to you. Let me give you an example of Detroit. You show what force is what needed, put the mayor at ease. Mayors are usually worriers, but worries keep you sharp... if it doesn't consume you. Playing the game at an elevated level. Ford did it with revamping the train station (Michigan central) when Detroit went to ruin. Then the artists come, and the tech firms, and the urban rebirth. And then what? Money? No. Legitimacy. Then they keep up the same harm they cause, spending only what is needed to reup supply (which will cause harm) and cover payroll (even if its from re-upped supply / continued harm). Everything else, every single cent, Ford makes it legitimate. That's what makes these large local criminal corporations into law abiding eco-friendly citizens to the eyes of the outside world. Man, you will be surprised how many sins are forgiven when you donate to their causes, their societies. Turn their system inside out is what Ford says. It starts with a nickle, and then a dime, and then they're well on their way. Pablo Escobar funded housing the poor, soccer fields, community projects and many poor communities INITIALLY supported him. He tried to enter politics and gain legitimacy. His charity bought local loyalty. Think about being stuck and tied in. Harmful activity creates wealth and the wealth is used to buy goodwill, "create jobs", and fund public projects, which gives you social legitimacy. Legitimacy reduces scrutiny and resistance. Most of the people in these communities are not stupid, even when some harm from a corporation is publicized, they will still be taking money for stuff like schools but just temporarily UNDER THE RADAR. Remember, many accept help because a level higher failed them, it doesn't mean they support the harm long term.

If you’re marginalized from before and stuck in a place dominated by a powerful local entity:

  • Avoid environments where legitimacy is being “bought”
  • Don’t assume public goodwill equals ethical behavior
  • Your time and energy are often safer elsewhere
  • If you get involved and get burned, you're stuck, so don't bother

Do your research of the players in the landscape. Do not blindly trust mentors or people that are compromised, whether they realize it or not. You'll be hurt by an entity and then invited by a mentor to another entity which is secretly owned by the entity that harmed you. Do your research, it takes your eyes opening once, but they won't close after that... staring contest?

@at This is Ford, and if you've kept up. There is no talk to a lawyer here, Ford will own you. Ford owns Michigan. The best failure mode avoidance advice I have for new grads and other CRACKED friends alike is to stay away from a weak company such as this one in the first place.

@ad for cause terminations would be very egregious actions by employees. punched a coworker/manager, stole money or tools from the company, failed PIP action plan etc. for cause likely isn't failed a single performance review. If you didn't do anything REALLY bad like that, talk to your lawyer in your state about wrongful dismissal and severance owing. at-will employment falls into this, but unless its major fault on your part, you may have a wrongful dismissal case.

In 2026 Model e will continue to be the critical organization in Ford's transformation plan. This is fact. With that, Model e (or other activities under DF) will certainly be the safest division of Ford to have talent retained. Only legacy areas are at risk in the near and long terms for resource adjustment.
