Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Extracting Maximum Value

Over two decades, I extracted maximum financial value from this company, with minimal personal investment, and delivered a minimal functional objective. My ethics and morals were fluid, and my social responsibility in doing so was a ruse. I extracted value until there was no more value to extract, and an empty well of a corporation was all that remained.

Chevron made me in their image, and I hope they are proud of their creation. My shareholders are certainly happy with their ROI.

If Chevron is going to pretend to pay us, then we need to pretend to work. Once again, the Chinese are way ahead of us here: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cdd3ep76g3go

My opinion is do what you have to do to preserve your mental sanity. I've seen a lot of good employees who were no labelled HP continually get passed over for lazy incompetents with connections.

Take that sick day and elder care day during days when it is less busy to increase your PTO balance. Put in only 4 hours of effort during those WFH days to keep your energy up. I've had my director keep asking me to do more, but doing absolutely nothing to develop my career saying it's entirely in my hands. It's gaslighting, pure and simple.

You're getting nothing more out of me and if you lay me off, I have no regrets. I simply hope to find a job elsewhere. I'm guessing the pay will be lower, but I'll be higher on Maslow's hierarchy (because right now all I'm getting from Chevron is simply scraping second layer - Safety and Security).

Based upon your statements, you do not work at Chevron because everyone who works at Chevron knows the OP is not a DEI hire. He is describing the stereo typical white middle age man at Chevron. He goes to meetings, sees things that are incorrect, does not tell anyone about opportunities for improvement, then goes home at night to his family. After 30+ years of promotions and bonuses, he retired with millions in savings and is laughing everyday at the company and the people he once worked with. Touche' OP!

@b6 has a hobby of writing childish comments in the hopes of drawing responses. B6 then frequently looks at the site in the hopes of seeing the reactions, in the same way a middle schooler might admire their prank. A sad life, a stunted growth adult.

The company? Who said you were part of company in the first place? Hahahaha your payroll remained DEI not the company itself. Keep telling yourself that and keep taking credit since that's all your socialist are good for is running your mouth but nothing to show as expected from DEI hired.
