Thread regarding 3M layoffs

EVP CPAO departure- pushed out?

Any word on if she was pushed out? I am assuming so based on the four sub groups now reporting to other people, and no mention of backfilling

ESC just announced another SVP CBG is leaving. He probably seen the rot within. This organization is in a mess. Even external hired executives cannot stay.

Doing good in our communities is hardly a waste of money, and 3M can afford it, especially with all the money they're saving after they yanked LTIP from 13s, 14s, and 15s.

But this PA person didn't seem to understand the "public" part of her job.

@g7

Sorry, but have to push back when wrong things are said. Granted, my info is 2 years old, but there's one Director level person (now called a VP, I guess) in charge of 3M Gives. There's a board of 3M exec who approve things, but they are regular execs who oversee (aka rubber stamp) the proposals and funding efforts.

I served on the Health and Human Services committee of the 3M Gives operation for 5 years. Each year, we had $700K to allocate to East Metro Social Services charities. This made a big difference in their operations. And we had a great deal of autonomy. Inga shifted things to more national level causes, but overall, this was a good function.

They should shut down that whole 3M Gives / 3M Foundation / and related social givingactivities. Save the company money by removing all those Vice Presidents and executives they have in that group ... their sole activity is to post social events on LinkedIn and self-grandize themselves!

@ew

Well, it's not a bad thing the previous CFO left. He was a disaster. Led Roman down a bad path too. So that's at least one move to BB's credit.

BB clearly had no eye for talent when hiring from outside. Anyone associated with the Iraq war in 2003 should never be hired for Public Affairs. She was a member of something called Rumsfeld group. Rumsfeld. Mr. Shock and awe. How'd that work out?

I'd rather see a bunch of temps come in since there will be no leadership from BB anyway.

The guy just needs to get on with it and carve pieces of the company off quickly so he can collect his 50 million and get back to his Florida yacht club.

The impact of the CPAO over her lengthy career at 3M can’t be overstated.

Just kidding. Didn’t survive even 24 months, apparently forgot the “P” in CPAO (did the public really hear anything from her?) and her background in crisis management proved to be inadequate as 3M’s reputation remained as soiled as baby’s diaper.

How could she possibly be not qualified? She sold the completely worthless war on Iraq to the American public and we bought it hook line & sinker for several years (some people still buy it).

I will give that one to BB. She was terrible and was not qualified for that role. Completely ineffective!

That reflects on BB leadership. It's the second executive leader departing. Looks more to come.
