There have been a host of org level restructuring actions with LR. Much less centralized than we're used to seeing.

Cisco is growing, thriving, trailblazing through to reach the stars. Y'all are missing out if you don't buy CSCO stock. CR's on his way to wear the presidential gown in the next inauguration.
Will the pope pray today? Will it get dark tonight? There are certainties in life and one of them is there will be layoffs at Cisco, large global restructures and smaller LRs under the radar. It is the modus-operandi of Cisco's business and all employees live under the constant threat of being LRd at any time. It doesn't matter how good you are at your job, they're always looking for cost reductions. They can happen any time but most times they are after a quarter or year end. Any questioning of the company's policy or any outspokenness, however well intended, put you higher up the list to be LRd. Cisco is a top down company where the orders from CR the used-car-salesman and his sycophantic band of losers in the shape of his useless ELT are followed with total obedience. Cisco is not a groupthink "let's brainstorm to improve things together" company.
The best bet to maintain your role or get a raise/promotion is to be a total yes person, nod along at the ELT "strategy" and create lots of PPT and charts about how great Cisco is, especially on the subject of AI, and volunteer to present this BS at internal meetings. Ensure to attend all such meetings both in-person and remote, Say "Hi from ------" at every all-hands meeting with other pathetic platitudes such as "Go Cisco!" , "Great dress Fran!" or "You look great Chuck!". Volunteer for as many woke initiatives as you can. You'll go far at Cisco with this strategy. It would be comical if it weren't so true.
Why is this still being asked? Cisco is a dying company. Dying very slowly, but dying nonetheless.
Like any dying company, the future is mostly about layoffs and not about hiring. Tech stocks are in a bubble and Cisco is still dying and laying off.
This is one of the downsides to a society flooded with money...dying companies like Cisco stay alive like that abandoned grandparent hooked up to a ventilator for six months in the hospital....braindead, alone, but still breathing thanks to external assistance.
