How did HR assign selection reps???

I got a person who landed a job in the psg 26-27 round, but has NEVER been a PDR and does not know anything about what I or anybody assigned to him does. It just seems extremely random in how IT did these things.

Meanwhile, one of my colleagues really lucked out with what seemed to be an excellent selection rep, despite not knowing his people that well either. When the dumpster fire that was Friday's selection tool release came out, nobody seemed to know how to decode the pointless job titles and unsearchable garbage we were left with. My friend said his selection rep had already done the work to find positions for him to consider.

I just feel hosed that my PLM or current platform manager can't represent me, and I got assigned somebody who's not going to help me land a job because they have no clue what jobs are out there and what I do. I can't be the only one out there in this situation thanks to our worthless HR team.

Every ROM sux but I don’t remember the 2020 one being this bad in execution.

Not just the tools (power app, really?!) but the whole process. If I can get a dollar for every job I ask my rep and he says “oh, that’s the wrong title, here’s the real one”…

And no org charts. Why? No reason to do that.

HR didn’t use AI to assign the reps, that’s for sure. For those who thought HR was sophisticated to do anything beyond spreadsheets roflmao

Do you think we can negotiate more severance instead of hiring an attorney?

HR team does it to themselves by overcomplicating this whole clusterfu-k.

It was also the HR team that attempted to bundle the jobs and made this thing not make any sense at all.

It was also the HR team that picked the workday job profiles seemingly randomly to match the jobs that the design teams put together, which further confused the employees even more when the workday job profiles made no sense.

B5, for IT, it was absolutely the HR team that mapped the selection reps. I am a selection rep and we had training for our 50+ reps. So you are clueless in what you’re saying.

HR being HR will have a DEI rep in the selection’s making sure the selections are diverse. Forget the right person for the job, HR is making sure that we check boxes first.

@b5, I was feeling mildly empathetic until I got to the last sentence.

“We all have IT to thank for the reason any job can now be done anywhere or even by a bot.”

HR has sûcked long before IT. If Chevron has an expensive and less than stellar workface HR is to blame.

It wasn't necessarily HR making these decisions.
I'm fed up seeing HR get smashed on this site.
Workday doesn't deliver what was promised. HR are working all hours and under the same stress as you all without the ridiculous salaries or knowing anymore about what's going on than anyone else. They will be decimated like everyone else in Q4 once they have been exhausted and ran into the ground doing this exercise and handing over their jobs to offshore and then you will really have something to whine about when you need HR support.
We all have IT to thank for the reason any job can now be done anywhere or even by a bot.

We were told location was top priority. Like duh. MK got all the Australians who will have no job. Easy to rep people you laying off.

BUDMs got their local people. After that, there is no rhyme or reason. I think they used a random number generator. Probably found a function in their Excel spreadsheets because we know they don’t know how to actually use Workday or any systems for their purpose.

Do you really want to know? Because you’re not going to like the answer.
