Update meeting has been had. We were told about the impact to our teams and advised that many of the functions will be handled offshore, where possible. This should ease some of the burden.
……. So, let me get this straight, we are supposed or feel better because you hired offshore to do the job that my coworker trained them to do, so that you could RIF said coworker ?

No kidding they're not a good manager. More like a sock puppet.
But yes someone did ask if this is just the way it is now. The obvious i don't know was the answer...
I've been at a company when the hr manager and owner showed up on a random 10am Tuesday morning meeting and told us the site was being closed. So at this point of my career I'm used to the sneak attack method

@b5+1jjpr2h0f Not a good manager if they say “nothing to worry about”. Nothing to worry about is bs message. Not saying they should say “we’re next” but “nothing to worry about” when there are RIFs every single month is not a smart measage.

It also happened to the Data Science and AI team in DPAIO. The package should be better than the annual bonus. Hope those who impacted get better jobs before April.

Team update scheduled for 3:15pm
Unless they informed you before giving the update we might have survived. Our manager just reassured our team nothing to worry about for our team.

I'm sorry to anybody that was impacted. Hopefully we're all okay

My sincerest condolences to those laid off today. It's likely a blessing in disguise, but it's still a sh*tty feeling in the meantime. Remember, this too shall pass, and brighter skies are ahead. Good luck to you.

Carelon Tech laid people off and I’m certain that the folks laid off were chosen out of spite given dynamics in personalities.

@aa+1jjpr2h0f, RIF’s get moved to the following week if the “normal” RIF day is the same as a Gail townhall. Which is the case here, the townhall was last Thurs.

Is this unusual given it is a non-Thursday and a pay week? Is that no longer the RIF equation?
