Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Performance setups

The performance matrix they use is setting employees up to fail so they can terminate workers in order to off shore jobs. They target employees with tenure, accommodations, and fully remote employees. They are trying to cut people to save a buck

@d6 I wish.....I couldn't keep mine. Offer came and I had to decline all because the accommodations team told me that they'd approve it only for about 3 months at a time.

That if even if it's approved let's say for the fifth, six time to stay fully remote, the seventh may not and then regardless of what a Dr note said, they wouldn't accept it anymore. And have to travel the in office time. If I couldn't do that be subject to termination because of adherence etc. Also to add, told by accommodations team, that nobody likes having to keep getting notes, and we would get tired of approving them, you shouldn't try to use a medical issue to avoid coming in. Dissuasion on all contacts. Manager, that team, recruiter. I tried getting a straight answer before deciding....

So I took a year severance. I hate it. I could have stayed on if it weren't for that. Loved my job and team but stuff like that affects livelihoods for legit people. Life long chronic, permanent but won't let me keep using it because I don't live near a hub??

I feel like I was wronged out of a job and probably many others in this exact scenario.

@ck Remember we don’t outsource. We have equal partners in India that pull their equal weight. Sorry, can’t stop laughing.

They aren’t doing this in ITV. They hand out work from home accommodations like candy. if you’re in the COO team and part of the leaders inner circle, you are golden.

The stock can only go up if costs go down. Severance is a cost, better to not pay it.

I remember I asked a question during a dept town hall and got in trouble later due to the question being about outsourcing jobs to India. The "leader" got in a tizzy about the word saying we don't outsource and didn't answer the actual question about replacing our jobs with jobs in India.

What's really awesome is when they let you go and then you start getting emails from temp agencies for your very same job at $12 less per hour.

Lol @op

Spread the rumor as hard as you can. They are running the standard playbook to make continued large layoffs. It's going LOB by LOB.

Yeah, really? We didn't know this. Especially the probably 20% or so of people who got an IM this year.
