Pls update if we hear anything about the timing of round 2.
Time to unionize.
@b4 it is basically reinforcing that there is no room for negotiation with the severance package, so you will only shoot yourself in the foot if you don’t sign the paperwork, which is required to get your payout
@a1 what does hold out and they may not pay mean?
We’re beyond fu---d. End thread.
Major layoffs in cable.
This too:
Approx 2,000 US Paramount employees are being laid off. If we look at the big picture and consolidate to 100 people per floor x 20 floors = 2,000. The magnitude is unreal. :(
and an old thread said via email
This is from this mega thread: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1k88fkvy7
@OP+1k88fkvy7
- HR insider (i believe the person is sincere) claims 99.9% certainty re layoff date (new york & LA) on Wed October 29, 2025
- She/He also says: most managers unaware, a few told friday or early next week, some svps and evps also in the dark
- they want prevent leaks (some leaders may be cut too, control is VERY limited)
- skydance mgmt dislikes past early leaks at paramount, keeping info very tight
- total & clear us versus them feeling...
- htat HR person says they are on the list, saw a spreadsheet by accident, felt humiliated, manager confirmed, formal notice will go out on next Wed
- many teams they support are also being cut
- negotiation is basically equal to zero, no chance, ask if you want but extra is unlikely
- ALL comms go to a generic HR inbox, replies are boilerplate (no hopes here)
- hold out and they may not pay, strict hr compliance...
- no movement on severance, timing, or terms
- process blends old paramount with new paramount skydance, comp unchanged, secrecy SUPER high until announcement (let's see what's gonna happen)
- mgmt wants to show show bigger than expected savings in the next earnings report - that's the real target here
