Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

You can’t fix stupid

The comms on this su-k big time. I feel like everyone involved in this at the leadership level should be ashamed of themselves.
Apparently the HR guy in Australia offered free linked in subscriptions to people at their town hall and had a sook about some questions. So offensive to the workers.
And these are the people running the show all over the organisation.
Time to take a hard look at yourselves Chevron. Your production costs are higher because your run by a bunch of id--ts.

I doubt they care about who they offend anymore.

The guy is so far up himself he can’t see the wood for the trees. If he could stop for a half minute in self promoting he may be able to do his job and answer honest questions in the TH instead of deflecting and spouting bull. All that and he’s an expensive expat. Send him back!!

This is the worst display of horrible leadership I’ve ever seen at any company

Every single town hall is worse than the one before

If I were in upper mgmt I would be so ashamed but there not ashamed at all

It’s truly the worst thing I’ve ever seen in Any business ever

One day I hope to be on the same salary as the HR GM. Following that meeting I realised I just need some strong medication, a bit of whisk-y and a weird fetish to get there.

HR GM at ABU is a real tool.

Why have a townhall if you don't have the answers, or can't disclose, or the next level org design is not ready

They figure they don’t need to since they have been “operating” that way for quite a while and still bringing it ($) in. They just need now to continue but with less.

In case y’all hadn’t realised the people trying to implement 15-20% workforce reduction cant do the supporting maths. Thats why it’s taking so long 🤣
The people left behind won’t be able to do the work. Let alone try to teach a bunch of Indians how to operate gas plants.
If you keep your reputations in tact you’ll be hired back in no time. Just a bit traumatised about the stupidity you’ve endured

He kept saying he ‘feels like he’s repeating himself’ and people were just asking genuine questions. He wasn’t answering the questions and just reciting holding statements. Hence the repetition.
His response about contractors was completely wrong as well, and this is 50% of the ABU workforce.
Not surprising though. That level of ABU org chart and ~3 levels under are completely useless and disconnected. Seems half the business unit is having to teach them how to do their jobs.

At the risk of repeating myself, I have zero empathy and am not sure myself how I managed to get on this stage…

What did he ask

They’re too focused on trying their best to not se-----y harass each other that they’ve forgotten how to manage an oil company

That he did! Displayed absolutely no empathy nor communication skills.
