Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

Will Ansys non-compete be still in effect?

We are now a California company. Just curious if anyone knows how to deal with the non-complete signed with Ansys?

@b3n the company I am hired for wants the waiver to join. I cannot be unemployment for a day (as I am on visa) so was wondering if I ask for it, will I be jobless of Ansys does not give a waiver? Can give any insight for it?

The company is not in the same industry as Ansys

@1gj Fortunately, these things are actually tough to uphold if they decided to take anyone to court.

@1gj Is it safe to ask for a waiver now or after Jan?

Yes, they will be. I’ve asked Legal this question. It’s up to Synopsys if they choose to go after people though.

And who would be around to enforce a dead and absorbed company's non-competes though?

Non-compete agreements are governed by the laws of the state that the employee resides.
