I just want to thank whoever works in HR or got the info on the DE email and timeline. They were right on the nose. Now the question is what’s next?
@ct open maybe some enrollment stuff maybe since that is also going on right now?
Haven't gotten the 11:30 follow-up email. Am I safe?
11:35am ET. No follow-up email so far.
@cs motherf----rreal people are affected, do you know how hard is the job market in the US right now. Show some respect.
Have heard some people were already informed. Not sure what the circumstances were though.
@cs If the OP continues to be correct, then people in CET who are affected should be receiving an email at 4:30pm CET, so we in Europe can’t say we are “safe”, no one is 100% safe at this stage.
@cs bro don't spread racism, we are all part of paramount family. Big hugs to everyone
@ct You mean certified mail through usps ? If so no . It has nothing to do with layoffs.
Maybe an odd question, but I see a certified mail being delivered to me today. Wondering if that's part of the process? Can't think of any other reason I'd have a certified mail coming.
Warsaw office not affected. Polish guys are the best.
@cj which confirms the OP wasn’t trolling like some people said. So I’m going to trust what they said.
All the best today. It feels like it will be a looooong day
Is everyone expected to get the emails or only those affected by the layoff? I got the first DE email.
ok it's 6:30 AM ET and we got the first email from DE.
The DE email has been sent out. I received it.
My id--t manager scheduled so many zoom meetings tomorrow. It was like she was oblivious to what's going on.. And when we tried to talk to her about it, all she would do is laugh her d-mb laugh, like it was no big deal..
Thank you for letting us know.
@b8 many in my team took the severance package. I wonder if that's going to affect our chances.
We got to know about layoff info from media and people here know which departments gonna be impacted the most
@b6 Do not listen to that id--t. Every single team in every part of the company will probably feel some part of these layoffs, and yes that includes CBS. Regardless of your department. 1,000 people is a lot.
WTH? I never answer my phone.
@b3 Thank God. I work at CBS and have been really worried. This eases my nerves a bit.
my boss has been mute throughout this whole process. All the tea we get is from this page.
@b2 Right??? My boss hasn't said a thing. He was a ghost today.
CBS is in the clear this round.
@az I wish my boss was as chatty as some peoples bosses 😆
@ap what makes you say that about Pluto TV?
@ap Shut up troll or back yourself up with details
@ax I heard something very similar from my manager sounds like they got some updates from HR today
@ap how do you know and how bad?
i asked my boss about this and he confirmed emails and same as OP
so acc him - DE email early
follow up email about commencement and procedures - maybe from the chairs .. he hasn't seen them
my boss is doing zoom links that he is doing - seemed to imply i was safe
but if i get one - im doing nothing until and going cam off - he has a script to read two weeks severance or warn min for us regulars ...
admitted some areas may be whole team or too many people so could be different
i said please tell people when it's over
his comments - cable and streaming hit very hard - don't quite understand streaming it was hit so hard before
cbs and paramount pictures not so hard
lots of streamlining under tv and media departments - knows nothing about news
last day friday HR contact for questions and device returning etc...
again - his comments so who knows if it's true for all
I doubt if top management has shared much intel about the email timings with anyone. Every department would be surprised !
The email will say something like ‘layoffs are commencing today. Please be sensitive about the situation’ I don’t think it’s an email saying you’re getting let go at 6ET
phone call from boss was how it was for me, in person at office, but that was before DE.
good luck all.
@a2 commence means "to start", friend.
@a4 doesn’t surprise me. During the June layoffs west coast got an email at like 5am I think?
The last few have come from the office of ceo(s) in the 7-8am est window. Being on the fortunate side in prior layoff I don't know what happens after that. I assume it will be similar. Best wishes to you all
@aj If you receive the email cancel those meetings, not your problem anymore, this is the company's mess to deal with.
Pluto TV is going to have a rough day tomorrow!
@aj Delegate to appropriate team member and hope they handle professionally. At that point it’s no longer your worry. Ideally push or cancel any calls for tomorrow.
Probably a troll. If any email is sent from Ellison, it will be after the blood bath. I bet it will be handled by local managers/HR. The company will not want to give anybody time for vandalism etc. But, I could be wrong. Dubbing off a reel right now.
